I love building things, then useing or driveing them as intended. Relying on something i built. nothing like the feeling of it brining me home. Love modifying and fixing things, the nastalgia of it, the collecting, the hunt, and the speed. Old cars are just bad ***.

Except for the cost, I love it all. I like building a car. Like the looks you get from non car people trying to figure out what the heck it is, or what planet you're from. Like the thumbs up and encouragement from those who do get it. I enjoy the comraderie from my car buddies helping each other out, or cruising together.
    It's all good.

For me I guess it's the time spent in the shop. I enjoy the time with my dad and kids in the shop. Their is sometimes I just like being alone in the shop with the radio playing just looking at what I have done. I don't buy alot of parts I can fab myself. They might not be as nice as bought parts. But at the end of the build I can say I did that. I find that I'm at peace with myself when I build a car or truck. If I can make a few freinds then thats just a plus. I like doing things thats the nay-sayers say can't be done. It's the smell of the shop the cutting oil, gas, trans fluid, paint, and raw metal that does it for me. The fun of a car is the build after that I'm done with it. Time to start another build. With a new build a new chapter in my life.......

I have a six year old grandson that grabs my hand and tells me it is time to go work on HIS car....lol, once he got so oily and grubby he wasn't allowed in the house till he took an emergency bath in the horse tank:D
All he said about that was he wanted to do it again tomorrow....I couldn't stop grinning as I handed him off to my girl along with $50 for some new clothes!
I hope he really does want the car someday, cause that is what my intentions are.:) Love is a great motivator.

For me, it's the car people---the real ones. It's like instant friendship. There's nothing better.

  9. I'm a builder I guess. I like to drive or ride what I build but I enjoy building for the most part.

I got a thing for going fast, if it doesn't scare me when I mash the loud peddle its time to build a new one. I also like to wander, I have wandered all over this country and parts south in some of the most outragious machinery every built.

He is known for pulling worse pranks than that but he let me have it with both barrels! LOL! Wanted to know what kinda a person could pull a stunt like that. He seems to enjoy telling people about it though. HA!

  15. I like it all, or I wouldn't be doing it. BUT, driving my cars is by far the best part of it all. I also like tinkering or making improvements far more than a general repairs

Watching the faces of the old timers light up when they see the car. Its not the most dsireable car but it brings back a lot of memories for a lot fo older folks and thats enough for us....just to see them smile and to hear their stories. It's not about having a car thats most desireable to other enthusiasts to us....but having a car that suits us best, gets us around town, and draws the attention of young and old alike.
