Picked this up yesterday. Hoping to ID it as I don't have a clue. First thought was front half would make a cool modified. Now thinking leave it as a touring with a tonneau. Either way, a cool modified!

Windshield posts look like Dodge, but could be a number of makes. Search for that dash design....... however, it is a good start. Tubs are not usually built and that is why you should leave it together.

I'm always a fan first of leaving it original. It's made it this long intact.
I'd LOVE to have a late Teens/Twenties touring!

Dodge, not older than 24, due to the shapes of the lower cowl.

That oval in the firewall is another mystery. I don't know if it had wood in it or not, can't see any remains of it though.

No wooden firewall, someone cut it out. Most all had a flat steel firewall welded in with an embossed stiffener bead design that looks like a sun with rays sticking out.

I have a rare one here, pre-24, just leaving my shop. the owner has collected Dodges of that age for 50 years and he had never heard of a firewall without those beads. This one has none. We wonder if it was Canadian, but who knows.

  15. Build it as a touring! A touring version of the "Take-out" T would be way *****in'!

  16. The cowl shape just doesn't look right to be Dodge.

Can't imagine trying to figure that out.. I was looking at the HUNDREDS of Touring car manufacturers from before 1930 in the USA alone.. those Maxwells, Appersons, and Washingtons must be out there somewhere throwing monkey wrenches at car identifiers. Good luck.

Use logic on the real old cars for the process of elimination, or consideration.

Very, very, few early cars were steel framed, especially in open body styles.

    Most were wood framed.

The start up costs of making the steel body, or the cost of buying a steel framed body by an orphan car company, would be a financial impossibility.

also, the law of averages: Dodge was likely the #2 in volume behind Ford? Never looked it up but.. they made a LOT

Too old to be a g***er, but it would make a neat touring as others have mentioned. Or an altered.
