These are described as "Model T rear accessory shocks, possible K-W, the heavy springs are missing" If all that is missing is a spring and a way to mount that end to the car, wouldn't they be a helper spring? Any ideas? and yes, it's on the bay, but I know the answer is here on the HAMB! Frank
Looks like they just take the place of the factory rear spring perches. I bet someone over at one of the Model T club sites has seen them before and would know what they are.
They do indeed take place of the Model T Spring perch. The stud coming out attaches to the backing plate and the shackle attaches to the unit. Inside the round lid should be a heavy spring which compresses, I am ***uming this is the heavy spring that is missing.
You have a pair of shocks for a Model T. It looks like the springs and the caps are missing but with a little ingenuity they could look great. I have a pair on a 1923 Model T and they work great. On the top of the cap was a adjustment screw which would control the tension on the spring. I hope this helps...
