I could ask them, but why not get some information first to see if it is worth pursuing.

Why in the hell would they cover up just the roof with a blue tarp, and hook the bungees into the fenders? Is this thing a convertible? Why else would they do that?

cool, thanks for ID'ing this car guys. I have never been a huge Ford fan, but is this something worth going after? The car has been parked in the same spot for at least the last 6 months. It looks to have newer paint, and good chrome, it also has red wheels!!

That's gotta be like, an '83..

  21. The kind that isn't for sale. Some 'information to see if it's worth pursuing' via analytical deduction:
Notice the lack of dust accumulation, round spots of darker dust from getting rained/ snowed on then water running off / evaporating, etc, and nice, shiny chrome. OP is in Washington state. It's May - 6 months means it sat outdoors with only a partial cover through a Washington State winter. May not have moved in 6 months, but an outdoor black car that clean in Washington has probably been washed, or at least dusted, in the last 2 weeks, and definitely didn't sit outdoors through a Washington winter and look that shiny without a cleaning. In other words, they may not drive it, but are fond enough and interested enough to clean it regularly anyway. Without a For Sale sign, that says to me they would likely be insulted if you asked if it was for sale.

    Just my $.02

  22. Being a desirable model, my guess is that they lost their storage, and it's killing them to see it sit outside. You never know the situation unless you introduce yourself and offer a hand, bro.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, I don't really have the space or money for it either, I was just interested in what it was.

If you don't know what kind of a car it is, you shouldn't own it.

I never knew what a Studebaker was before I bought my first one sight unseen off of ebay halfway across the country (back in 2002 I think) from a guy who as it turns out is a fellow h.a.m.b-er. Still got that truck and now 3 more. Some people enjoy experimenting with the unknown and learning some new things.

EB...you should prolly know that THIS website was started by someone that wasn't alive til at least the late 70's...you should also know that there are "youngsters" on here that will carry on the hot rod tradition long after you and I are dead and buried...you should also know that NOT every young hot rodder alive today knows what kinds of a cars were manufactured way back when...and what they look like...but they know what they like when they see it.

So, if that comment was a joke...put an icon beside :D it so we all know you were joking ...if it wasn't, perhaps you should have kept it to yourself. There are people on here trying to learn...
