Just want to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Labor Day weekend. Now what LABOR are you doin to your hot rods, this LABOR day weekend? I am frantically trying to get my 26 ready for the Billetproof drags in October. This weekend is painting my hairpins and rear shocks, and locating and plumbing my ****** cooler. Red hairpins should be worth at least 30 rear wheel horses right?
I bought another old truck ( I know ... it is a sickness/diease ) and I am stripping the parts I need off it for my project 1949 M-47 Mercury pickup. Then I will have some extra 1948/1950 F1 parts to sell. I will post them in the HAMB cl***ifieds.
Sandblasting the body, wheels and other ***orted parts. I've got templates to make for brackets I need plasma cut and finishing my "to do" list for my frame.
Trying to finish building front floors on 32. Bought more 18 gauge yesterday so I can work all weekend.
Heading out in a few to pull the front clip, then the 500" out of the '60... Gotta get everything out & cleaned up so I'm ready to stab the fresh 478" Cad after I pick it up from mctim64 on the 18th...
finishing porting the heads and lapping the valves, then painting them and ***embling the motor completely, then more work on the floor grid in the 29 so its finished, then i can pull the body back off the frame AGAIN, and do finish welding on the frame and underside of the body. i think 3 days might be enough, but i know other to do list things will interupt me. maybe if i lock myself in the garage i will be free from distractions (she doesnt have a key)
I'm typing this from work (my day job) from here to a family reunion for my wife (just making an apperance) then to "The Great Labor Day Cruise". Tomarrow and Mon painting my sons ElCo so I may have some time to relax by Mon eve?
Will spend the weekend doing my best to help kill the Taliban I will try to think about my hot rod while doing so...

I'm taking my Studebaker out for a cruise. I know it ain't the best but I'll be damn happy I have it. Then I'll go home and throw a ribeye on the grill. I will give a toast to The Communications Workers of America Union that got me the pension that I can live on. And last but not least I will raise a gl*** to all the men that are fighting to keep this country safe for me to do this.
Finished up making the accelerator pedal and cable ***embly for my 41 Plymouth on Friday. Yesterday and today have been devoted to getting the Dakota rear axle fitted and new mounts welded in place. Tomorrow, I'll remove it and clean and paint it. Then, I can put it back in again. Gotta get my flywheel machined and my driveshaft shortened this week. Every step is a baby step.
