what make a great rod?

anything you build yourself no matter where you got the parts or what ever you used .
as long as you like it it really dont make a shit what other people think of it.

Not to reiterate, but traditional is the only way to go. Most of the people here are fanatical about this stuff. Old Ford stuff is best, in my opinion...although I wouldn't mind having a mint old hemi on an engine stand in my garage waiting for a willing recipient body.
