What Make is this Front Axle?????

My buddy just dropped this front axle off...it was free...looks complete..the problem is what is it a....Chevy...Ford...Dodge....the lugs are 5.5 x 5...hoping it might fit my 28 Chevy..will check out measurements tomorrow..oh the drums are 11" Diameter..

You can use those brakes/hubs/drum with 40's Ford spindles..
use the search engine for that on the board for more details

 

Any idea what year this is from...

 

It's a 48 to 52 Ford F1 pickup axle , a good one to use, if you are going to use a 5 on 5.5 rear axle.

Ah...this axle will not fit my 28 chevy...it's about 3" wider (longer) and the spring pads are about 1 1/2" wider then the ones on the chevy axle...I thought I could save some $ using the Ford axle.... since it was complete and I wanted juice brakes...I'll clean it up and Ebay the parts from it...Oh ya I want to thanks you guys for the info.
