As with animals and their young "Imprinting" happens to us all. And when it comes to cars and young males it seems to hold true. For me it was the moment I picked up the Jan 57 issue of Car Craft Magazine with Duane Steck's Moonglow on the cover. When I finally retired I went and bought a 54 Chevy hardtop like it. If my grandson isn't interested in cars when I am gone it will be sold to someone who loves traditional customs.
A 1960 Elcameno plain Jaine with a 348 3 speed OD, is the only Chevy I would love to have in my driveway. Got one?
well if i had one choice and thats a tough choice since i have the nomad and that was my dream car, it would have to be the "x-51" that thing has always tripped my trigger. ron courtney built a one of a kind legend.
If i could have any car it would probably be 409 4spd 64 Impala SS or a total 60's style 55 chevy gasser
I'm working on getting them right now..... A '59 Bel with a 348, a 3x2 and a 4spd. Blue with a white roof, sittinglow on blue steelies with wide whites with quad fishtail exhaust! haha. And i'm gonna say it anyway, a 32 ford coupe (dont care if it's a 3 window or a 5 window) but with a stroked chevy motor. Think exactly like Millner's Coupe but not piss yellow And while I'm at it a '50 Merc.
The Ultima GTR by a landslide. There is no comparison. Excellent looks and astounding performance. I love me some vintage hotrods, but the Ultima GTR is number one in my book.
Not a hamb car but it is what started it all for me. When i had just turned 18 i saw 68 Chevelle SS with a 396. It was red with the tasteful stock pinstrips not those fucking racing stripes. It was at a lot so i stoped, they wanted 12k for it. Well it just so happend i had exactly 12k almost to the penny. But i pussyed out and did not drop the cash. It was my first "the one that got away" Ive loved 68 and 69 chevelles ever since. Just something about the way the headlights look makes it seem like it should be from the early 60s not the late 60s. If it wasnt for that car i never would have gotten into hot rods. Not a HAMB car but it would be my first pick.
Okay shoot me if you must but a full fendered 32 Ford Roadster is at the all time top of my list. But if I had to pick from something else it would be a 30's Duesenberg or Cadillac V16 in better than original condition and preferably a dual cowl Phaeton.
Join the club. I want a Duesenberg SJ. I mean come on, it's got a 320 horse straight eight! Or perhaps "Babs". A Liberty V-12 powered racecar that reached 170 miles per hour before breaking a drive chain and killing its driver. Actually, fuck. I want an American LaFrance speedster. They're big.
If I had to choose just one ... I would have to pick my old roadster Had it a very long time, been a lot of places with it. Been to California and all across the country. Florida, Ohio, Kentucky ... Indy, St. Paul ect. I plan on owning it when I die. So the wife can have the 3W ... I am extremely fortunate to have the two cars I have always wanted. I drive the roadster a good bit and plan on driving the 32 3W ... a lot.
ANY hotrod! Aint that simple? In Croatia..... man any REAL hotrod will do.... lets hope we get there Fiki.
1962 superior cadillac crown royale. black, grey curtains, red interior with a big ole caddy motor dont care what size.
