Having owned and driven and built many early .Ford hot rods for over 60 years; decided at age 77 to leave my house in Texas(too hot too many folks) and relocate to Delaware. Daily driver in Delaware is 55 Ford 2 dr post, original paint, factory tinted glass,no accident damage ever. frame cut at firewall and entire frt clip from 95 Lincoln Mark 8 engine(all aluminum DOHC v8) precursor to Coyote. Rack pinion steering, struts, sway bar, mustang GT disc brakes make driving this 50’s Ford extremely fun to operate.
New arrival at the day job this week. Jag C-type replica (or "recreation"). The aluminum panel work on it is pretty impressive. It's here because the new owner is 6'4" and wears a size 14 so we'll be reworking the pedal box area to accommodate.
Met a nice fellow named gord having a spot of trouble on the maiden voyage of his new ride stopped to see if i could help, his mechanic was already on the way so we had a visit , trucks on a s10 frame with a 4.8 litre
Hello, We were out cruising around on a sunny day when a slightly lowered Oldsmobile sedan came rumbling up next to us. It was on a busy highway heading for the beach. But, the Oldsmobile sedan stood out among the modern traffic cars/trucks. Jnaki It was pure off topic with large rims, a lowered stance and an additional muffler system. It was pure cruising for the time of day. Not yet lunch hour but, still in the A.M. The big old cruiser had some emphasis while cruising with the rumble of the motor. We could hear it even with our windows rolled up. It was a land yacht with style… YRMV
Definitely a 73, could be a 442 or just a regular cutlass with a paint nod towards a Hurst/Olds. The H/O's only came in white with gold or black with gold, I used to own the lesser made black with gold. I've seen 442's with that side stripe but the rear deck lid panel is like the H/O.
Worked on this 1 of 20 '72 ZR1 Corvettes the other day. Reinstalled the repaired original radiator. Almost entirely original car with 16,300 miles. Not sure if its original paint, there are signs it is and signs it isn't.
Wow, that jogs the memory. Beautiful Corvette. Good friend ordered a straight '72 LT-1 when he was in basic. Same color w/saddle int. When he got home I took him to pick it up at the dealer. They had it corralled in amongst other new offering in the back lot. The LT-1 was detuned to 270hp by that time IIRC, but still damn snappy. He'd probably have ordered the ZL-1 package, if not for his future wife requiring A/C.....Thanks for the memory!
My aunt had a Nova with a badge like that on the console. Pretty sure it was a 73 because it was a hatchback. I was too young to pay attention so I don't know what it was but they were probably only used on a special engine.
I love this color, it’s one of my favorites. This ZR1 has no radio, and therefore none of the typical Corvette ignition shielding. Another off feature (or lack of a feature) is no fan shroud at all on ‘72’s. ‘70’s and ‘71’s had a metal shroud that was different than the standard fiberglass version on standard Vettes I assume for the larger radiator. No a/c but does have Astro ventilation, and it has the alarm system.
Hello, The worst Chevelle Malibu SS I have ever seen was sitting in a parking lot. About a couple of months ago, I happen to be in a neighboring city to find a shop that I had seen about a year previously. But, as I was going out of the industrial tract, my eyes could not imagine the Chevelle Malibu sitting in the parking spot. It looked ok, as if a person just stopped and went into the industrial building. So, I drove by without much as a second thought. Then when I went looking for the other shop in the same industrial area recently, I came upon the same Chevelle SS parked in the same slot from the past year’s road trip. But, this time, the paint looked a little worse for wear. And the rear tire was flat. So, it was not a daily driver. The paint scheme in a Malibu SS is always a nice one from the contrasting racing stripes. This one had a fast fading overall paint color and the stripes being black were not looking good. But, I have seen a dark blue sedan with white contrasting stripes. Also, another red one with black stripes, but it looked pristine versus the Malibu that was sitting in this parking lot. It was such a shock that someone would let such a cool car get blasted by the daily/nightly salt air incursion that the whole area gets all year around. Jnaki One day, I may drive back to that area and see if it is now in a further along, “ corrosion” mode and if all of the tires are flat. Note: The Chevelle two door sedan model line hits home. My wife's mom had a yellow one that we used for a drive on our wedding day, from her house to the reception dinner in Los Angeles. At least, it was shiny and had A/C for the long trip to see our friends at the reception. Not a salt encrusted Malibu sitting in a parking lot getting wasted …YRMV

He asked what's his name I told him and he replied that's was my vette, small world That's a rare vette.
Early 70’s Trans Am out of Texas on 70 WB in Indiana...appeared to be a high end pro tour It was Nice!! Probably going to Good Guys Columbus
Unless they're stuck in a traffic jam the driver's taking a chance driving that close to the vehicle in front. Yikes.
