Without seeing your setup it's just a guess but a Chevrolet 525 power box should work. You may have to inset it into the frame boxing the area, a universal joint in the steering and a column support would allow the use of a stock column.u k

post some pics of your set up now. check Ch***is Engineering, etc for adapters to bolt on a manual Chevy steering box. trying to use powering steering will likely have clearance problems plus, running a pump. I used a adapter to run a Vega box on a '47 Ford with a 302. used aftermarket stainless pitman arm, because it had to be bent slightly to align everything. there are different boxes with quicker turning ratios too. think some Mustang boxes work. do a long search here.

I've been told a Chevy 605 is almost a bolt on. Good small box. I put one on my 48 Plymouth. Almost bolt on there too. I bought a rebuilt one on ebay for just over $100. Splines fit. Most splines are standards and I would't be surprised If the Fords are the same.

My 46 Ford convertible has the exact same same front end set up using a GM 605 power steering box. Works great.

My 46 has a 351c, different setup all together. I bought a power steering gearbox and pump for it, but it wouldnt fit. It was real close.
It was just one of those things that I had to have in my hand and try to put into place, before I could tell if it was going to work.

I ended up with a chevy manual box.

I still have the power box and pump / hoses. If your interested in them send me a pm. Just tell me what you will give for it.:). just dont go too high.;)
Shipping would be the worst part.

I can also send some pics with measurements.

I did use the long pitman arm that speedeway sells, to help with the oil pan clearence for the drag link.

  7. Ch***is Engineering will have some ideas about what works best for your setup. The Saginaw box will work good.
