I haven't sold out, but have gotten slightly burned out from my last job. I love working on old cars and have been since I was 15 (32 now). I worked for the guy for 2 years, he was such an a-hole, stressed out, basically made me feel like I was an idiot because I didn't know what he did. The guy just radiated negative energy. So finally I just quit when he went off on one of his mood swings. I've been feeling a lot better, and have been working on my stuff again. However I do feel differently sometimes. I need to shake that feeling. I really cannot let some arrogant Mr. know-it-all ass wipe corvette lover take away my passion. I get the willies just thinking about working for that douche.

I refuse to grow old as the "Old Fart with all the shit he'll never get around to doing anything with and wont part with any of it or thinks its worth gold"... all my shit has an affordable price or id trade or even give it to a friend if helped them complete a project!!........

I only have one car project. If it came between my car and my family, I would part with the car without question. I would think my daughters would be more disappointed than I. They both want classic cars when they grow older.

Three serious projects that I intend to finish then everything else gets sold off so I don't have to move it when the farm ends up getting sold.

I've got a 30+ year accumulation of stuff that I either picked up either for the 48 or my 51 Merc that went away 18 years ago. Most of it I hauled home and changed my mind about using it. I've decided that the only way to sort it is to empty one shed at a time and either put it in a specific project pile, the truck bed for junk, or the swap meet pile. The only stuff that goes back in the shed are the pieced for specific current projects.

The short attention span thing is why I believe a lot of guys sell out or sell their rods. I know a couple of local guys who have been through the whole gamete of motorized hobbies, one at a time. Starting with drag cars, Corvette, then dirt bikes, street rod, Jet skis, ski boat, and then Harley. Each sold to help finance the next and going all out at each when they were involved in that particular one. As soon as a new fad comes along I'm sure the bike will go and they will be on to that.
