I like the shape of your Car,Tub,Hotrod OR whatever ,

That said ,in post #4 I meant the PT part (as in) the old fighting boats, and the cruising part (as in ) down the road.

In # 7 and 12 I was talking about the boats and the Artwork on those boats maybe good for your ride,

I think that it would look good ,lower on the side of the cowl section ,A Navy pin-up girl leaning up against a big olive and her holding a martini gl*** ,Would only needs to be 10 ta 12 in'' tall , I'll see if I can get a few mintues in the next day or two and put something together for ya!

    No disrespect intended!

I really like the car. It doesn't need to be gimicked up with a name or a theme. It has, in my eye, a roadracer look. Several cars were built in the mid fifties that had sportscar influences. Anyhoo, that's what I see in it.

I agree, easy to be "gimmicky" and lose something. The car definately has personality, I just thought it would compliment that to have a name and/or art. I kinda like the idea of it on the dash, where I can see, and not every bystander. After all, they'll HEAR it coming!

Thanks for all the compliments, means alot.

Phantom Fordillac Phaeton. (I'm not keen on subs***uting "f" for "ph" or vice versa but I wouldn't complain if you did...)

Not a fan of naming cars as they usually name themselves. But Phantom 472 works for me. I could see a single subtle stripe running along the body line under the windshield post bisecting a ghosted 472, on the cowl.

wasn't there a famous WWII bomber named Bock's Car? Boxcar, etc....would look cool with nose art on the hood sides under the louvers at the back.

How about a ***y play on words like "The Phantom Cabriolay" instead of cabriolet? Sounds cool to me. Ha-ha

Texas********, mind if I steal litterbox? My friend has a shoebox that "needs work!"
He's been wanting me to stripe his car, and I have been waiting on the right inspiration... I might give him a free stripe job and letter it while he's at work!

  20. Wasn't around for WWII, and it would be very disrespectfull for me to deal with someone as old as you. ;)

I do have a lot of respect for the fellas that run the rivers in South East Asia though. A squid is a pretty important guy if you need a ride.

Problem with PT 109 is that if you call it that you have to have a Kennedy around to pull it when it breaks down.

I personally never name one. If it happens it happens.

    Awesome car Brian.

You're headed in the right direction. I'm not very big on names, but sometimes as you get to know em on the road, they'll tell ya.

If someday that car tells you it's name, great. But somehow with the way it's been built and the way it's turned out........a prefab name just seems to pull it down a notch. I can't really explain why. Maybe it just seems like that's a car built by a guy who gets it. The bulk of namers seem to be building by-the-blueprint cars, or over the top showcars. Yours is perfectly neither. Once you name it you define it, and part of it's iden***y is not fitting established iden***ies. Know what I mean? Good luck!

  25. The SLIPPER or maybe, if it's "***y" you are after, The LADY SLIPPER...

It does sorta look like a slipper (sorry(?) ) and then there's the dragster connection... The Gl*** Slipper.

    I'm just sayin'.

I wasn't around for it either, so disrespect away! :D I have nothing but admiration for Marines, not everyone has the diminished capacity to think that charging ***aults are a good time! Sorry, old habits die hard:)

Things hadn't changed a whole lot by Vietnam, the area of patrol was just smaller and the enemy was harder to take the fight to.

As for the Kennedy connection, I'd be more afraid if he named it the "Chappaqui**** Special"...

Your saying you want to go with the Navy theme with the PT 427 instead of the OD green how bout something like this instead with the art laying on top of it. I think it would mesh better. Per the Navy Seabees.
