Between 'SpeekWeeks' 2007 and 2008, I have probably spent over an hour taking pictures, measurements and notes of your gorgeous '36 Pickup (I also have a 36 Binder). I really think your PU is unique and beautiful as is. I understand the salt corrosion problem, but if it were mine I would just not take it out on the salt anymore. You can show it at the nitely SpeedWeek car show at the Wendover Nugget, same as before, but just not go on the salt. You must like to cut donuts because you usually have more salt on your PU than any other vehicle at Bonneville. That can't be good for the pickup. Ask yourself this before you paint or primer it: Would you have gotten your pickup on the cover of R&C if you had painted it???

Hey Southfork, Thanks very much for the response on my truck. If you would like any more info on it I would be more then happy to help you out. I like to be the young guy helping people out. Yes I do have some fun out there in the salt. I love those donoughts. One legger one's too. Yes my truck couls have a corrosion problem. That is why I am going to takt the body off the frame and completely re do it. Change wheels, brakes gauges, motor, paint it(now with the overwhelming response) and it should be good to go for another year before my 5-window is done.

Cool, truck, got any more pics of it or of the build? Flat International Red would be cool or even shinney International Red.

Minneapolis Moline Orange would be killer on that, now that I think about it. I also liek the idea of (I can't believe I'm gonna say this) using tractor enamel and a catalyst. As much as I don't think cars should be painted with it, as it oxidizes quickly, that look would be perfect on that truck. The color would probably be close to the state highway color it once was. It's an orangy/yellow, pretty neat hot rod color.

Hmmm. I wonder where I could see what the color looks like? Do you think a auto body shop could get that for me? Please let me know asap. Im getting ready to start the overhaul on my truck. :)

I liked it when it looked like this, which was the old state color with some grey primer on top and then sanded.

However, I think it would definitely look better with paint on it. Mine was sort of a burgundy color originally that I plan on painting it back to.

Was black and option? Over done, perhaps but fuck it's the best option!

The red might be cool or even a brown. Get it glossy if you can afford it though.

I just saw your thread after I bought paint for my truck today...I went with IHC red but matte or shiney is still up for grabs. If I can figure out how to spray the matte, that is my first choice. There were a few other colors in the running but I kept coming back to red for some reason. You have a nice truck - can't really go wrong with your choice. I always liked the yellow that it had on it a few years ago and the MM yellow above.
