Im thinking of putting a set of chrome O.E. style wheels and WWW tires on my 56 chevy sedan. The car does have disk brakes on the front and a 12 bolt rear with drums. I am unsure of what size tire would be the best. Im leaning towards bias ply just for the look. I don't drive the car everyday but i will be making some 200-300 mile trips to the beach every once in a while. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

6.70 15" tires and rims no wider than 6 inches for a late 50's look.

  3. BFG Silvertown 6.70x15 bias plies on factory rims. Rides nice and handles well. The looks, in my humblest opinion, speak for themselves.

I will post a few later on. I go the body as a christmas present when i was 12. My dad and I restored the car and Ive drove the car since i was in high school. It was my first car. I'm 27 now and my taste have changed. It has american torque thrust on it now but every thing else is in a traditional style late 50's to early 60's. The wheels and tires are my last thing to change out. Its red and white in a Del-Ray style.

I had the wide white bias plys on my 56 but thought it didn't look as good as I wanted it to. I thought the white walls were too wide.

My 56 is in my Avitar photo. Sorry I haven't managed to learn how to post photos. Have 8" rims and 2:55 78R-15 on the rear and 6" rims with 2:15 78R-15 on the front with 2" dropped spindles. I did move the rear springs inboard on the rear to get the room to get the tires stuffed in place. It is a very tight fit on the rear but I like the look. Dropped the rear down around an inch.
