    Hi

I had gotten this thinking it was a C4, now I think I'm wrong. Any thoughts to what it could be?

    Thanks

Definitely not a C4, probably a ford o matic or cruise o matic or FMX. Ican't make out the number on the front...does it say C8AP..??? if so it's from 1968 or newer.

the reason they called the C4 a C4 is that the first ones were introduced for the 1964 model year and the part numbers all started with C4 (ford engineering speak for 1964). Same deal with the C6, being introduced in 1966.

    another useless tidbit

  5. I thought they were called a C4 since they blew up so often... actually they're a good box.

If it says C8... on the pump, that would be my guess to.

Thank you guys for all your help. Now that it's not what I needed, I have to get rid of it.... If only it were 100 lbs lighter.

    Thanks again!
