Here is a pic of a Volvo box,the guy doesn't know exactly what it's from. There may be more than one model Volvo box that will work.

I found one at a swap a couple years ago,it had a Volvo tag on the side of the Aluminum housing, but the guy didn't know what it came off of.It was part of a larger lot he wouldn't break up.

Yes it came a couple days ago. I'll try to get it measured up tomorrow. Getting ready to go on vacation on Saturday, so worst case would be the week of July 9th.

    Thanks

If you can post some usefull numbers,
I'll see if I can get the same from Ray-Dean.

One number I'm interested in is the dimension from the center
of the input shaft,to the inside of the stock pitman arm.

    Someone suggested the Suzuki/Geo box.

Another suggestion was the Toyota PU box.
    This is from a '85 4x4,also power.

I used a bmw 2002 in my rpu. Haven't driven it yet, so can't give any performance info, but if measurements would be helpful I can post some up after I'm back at the shop this weekend

From the center of the input shaft to the back of the pitman arm is 6-1/8".

A few more pics and some specs:

    Turning ratio:
5.25 turns lock to lock = 1,890 degrees
max. pitman arm travel = 45 degrees
    Turning Ratio (45:1,890) or (1:42)

Output Shaft Spline Count: (looks like 24?) can't be sure because my pitman arm is still attached.

Input Shaft Spline Count: Can't see mine because it has the steering column receiver cup still attached.

74 BMW 200 (I think) does not need to be reversed. Best bet is to walk around the junk yard and start turning steering wheels untill you find a box you don't have to reverse.

There is a great tech on this that I followed for making the extension and arm , it really worked out well.
