Not a serious discussion, just something fun to think about.
Kind of an odd question, but this build was never a particular style, era, or regional style or a remake of any kind.... Is my car a particular style or is it just a hodgepodge of custom goodies?
I have spotlights, and am going to put the trim on the body up to the hood.

    Mild custom. Maybe mid 50s

  4. If it's getting a hopped up or swapped engine id put later fifties

  5. I like it
    Drop the rear
    Has a taildragger vibe

    -I put a 351 in it...shhhhhhh
    - tail dragger is on the list. I already have blocks in the rear. Gonna have to flatten the springs

  7. Like this with a Buick Nailhead engine and full moons for hubcaps

  9. Disguise that 351 a bit with finned valve covers and a spun air filter and I'd say late fifties style

  10. Mild custom is what I'd call it, there's no major body mods going on

I painted it black with gold powered by ford valve covers to give it that old FE look and gussie it up later on

  12. No hate on budget building. On the 350 in my 53 I had sealed finned aluminum valve covers with and fill tube and breather cap on the intake. Turns out despite low mileage this engine has too much blowby for that. Can't swing similar finned covers with holes at the moment so I had to throw these Edelbrock covers on for now lol IMG_20241013_194824414.jpg

There's been numerous ways shown to have a functional PCV system without holes in valve covers ... No Chevy I'm aware of relied solely on the filler tube for crankcase ventilation.

  15. Oh I know the earlier sbc with fill tube and breather on intake also had a road draft tube also. In the past on tight fitting engines without provisions for road draft tube I've gotten away with just the fill tube and breather. Not this one though. I'll just buy the finned covers with holes. They aren't expensive. Just needing my current funds for holiday stuff and other stuff on the car like carpet and weatherstripping
