1950 Merc, 327 SBC. I added a Jegs TV cable bracket to my Edelbrock 1406 Carb. This bracket sits back about an inch and a half back behind than the bracket that was on there previously. I had to weld a section in the center of the bracket as the angle was not correct (the angle was too close to the carb). I got everything thing back together, re-adjusted the idle and TV cable. But now there is no park. I also have a Lokar Floor Shifter. Before I dig into this further can you guys point me in the right direction. My first thought is I may have broke the tv cable down near the trans moving it while putting on the new bracket? I cant see it until I get it off the ground. Car shifts fine just not engaging in park.

The tv cable has nothing to do with park.
    Check your shifter.

I'll check it out, seems odd this started after working on the TV cable.

I don't see the linkage conversion on the carb that is used with the 700r4. But it wouldn't affect park, just the correct pull on the cable. I thought that was a must have item with the 700r4 and Edelbrock carb.

ok, so thank you guys for your help. Do you ever feel like your car knows when you do improvements/upgrades and it pays you back by something else going bad?. It's like, oh I see you upgraded the TV/ Throttle Bracket up there, SO NOW TRY PUTTING YOU CAR IN PARK, BIG GUY, YOU LIKE THAT! I had my son go thru the gears while I was under the car watching, for some reason the linkage was too long to fully engage park. I cut a quarter inch of the linkage, now it goes into park, just fine. Thanks again.
