as the world one ace exclaimed " yes them fokkers were all around me and some were flying messerschmidts"
I can picture this thing with a blown Hemi in the back at Bonneville. Or a injected Hemi doing wheel stands all the way down the track at the H.A.M.B. Drags. Would a Allison fit in there?
Early 40's Olds, Buick front fenders... but possibly Not of This Earth! I'm thinking some kind of ZooMobile or CircusKraft tug to pull wagon loads of attendees.
It is probably too late to find out what this extremely well designed item actually once was. I just know that for sure, the Federal Gov. has seen this post. Now, this unit has never existed. It is now back to being government owned. At one time it had to be purchased at an army surplus auction?
It's probably nothing anyone here on the hamb has seen, unless you live near where I saw it. If it's still there when I go back, I'm going to stop and ask what it is and what they're going to do with it.
thanks i was starting to pack the van to go findout myself... now ill just review here to see.. . i keep looking and looking at it any mor pics?
The cowl section and the sides look like the came from an International Harvester combine from the early 50s.
Wow 34ply... you're right, I kept thinking 40 ford trunk. I had some more pics, but the camera crapped them out. so this is all I got.
I SMELL WHAT YOU'RE STEPPIN' IN!! I see it, and I LIKE it! The "rear" portion even has real potential as a hood. Almost has a late 50's racing Jaguar look/feel to it.
I posted a link on page two and no one bothered to check it??The link is for a page about three wheeled cars and photos of some from back in the 40's and 50's..This is one if you look closely at the wheelbase and framework..A lot of companies made them, but not many survived,so not all makes were accounted for...This guy may have stumbled upon something with a semi survivor of thos three wheeled fun cars..
THE ONLY THING SIMULAR IS THE 3 WHEELS ... I HAVE SCOURED THESE PAGES AND FOUND NONE CLOSE MOST HAVE THE SINGLE WHEEL IN FRONT .. I AM STILL LOOKIN I EVEN DOUBLE CHECKED EVERY INSIGNIA I COULD MAKE OUT.. THANKS IT WAS FUN LOOKIN THE DAVIS IS A NEAT STORY
Here is a link to a 3 wheel vehicle site with a comprehensive archive of 3 wheel cars. Went through them all and didn't see it there. http://www.3wheelers.com/enter.html
Wow i wish you guys could help me figure out what this is... You're doing an excellent job helping though!! thanks! Still no rikster???
looks like something from an early sci-fi movie or something. Who knows, it could be an early attempt at building a rat rod.lol
I've worked it out.Originally it was the body of a flying car,you can see the shape of the wing around the back. They were detachable when you landed. It had 2 engines, one mounted pusher style on the wing and the other at the back to drive on the road,The area where the wing attached became inline seat arrangement for 2 people.Produced in the early fifties in Minnesota.
