I'm building a `56 Olds 98 'Holiday' hardtop & feel pretty "dazed & confused" most of the time when I sit back & look at how much more I need to do to it.

  7. When I was little the guys that raced and did it on their own dime (little or no sponsorship) were called PorknBeaners.
Basically they lived on Van Camps to be able to do what they really loved doing.

My Ol' Man always said I was just a Porknbeaner and that's all I'd ever be. he was absolutley right. Nuff said I guess.

It just occured to me that if I gotta explain it its probably lost on you.
(that's me being an asshole :D, I can do that I'm old.)

Well , me and some of my buds were leaving an evil den of ******. anyway one of them asked me to borrow some money. Here I walk thru the door looking back over my shoulder, and not watching where I was going. I said to my bud "don't look at me, I'm done broke too. Walked right in to the best looking gal I'd ever seen since last saturday night while I was drunk. she just smiled and said "glad to met you Mr dunbroke2, I kinda like lookin at ya."
    the rest is history.

  9. 12 Years ago I louvered a hood for a friend, and when I droped it off his 5 year old son asked who I was and his dad told him that I was the guy that just louvered the hood, he replied "Oh thats the louver Dude" it stuck!

Well, Being force fed chevys and fords by my uncles and owning a bunch over the years, we recently discovered Hudsons. My wifes is going to be more of a custom and mine is turning into sort of a hot rod shop truck. I didn't like Huddork or Hudfag or Hudwierdo so I settled in with Hudrodz.

  15. Wow, this is a mother of a thread. So since it seems every other HAMBer that ever existed posted the story behind their user name, I thought I better do the same.
Last name Halley, as in Halleys Comet. I use it on all the message boards I post on so I can remember who I am! :D

My first name is Tim. I moved from Alberta (the redneck province) to metropolitan ultra-liberal Vancouver BC. Given my roots and opinions on the big city, my friends dubbed me TimBob. Or if it's a formal occasion TimothyRobert.

I'm sure I posted this back when the thread originally started, but for all the newbies here goes...
My HAMB nickname (and license plate) is Boyd Who.
If you have to ask what it means, this is not the forum for you. :D

Mine's just temporary. I'm still trying to find one of those rare mouse motors. When I do, I'll of course change my name.

name's john. Some call me Johnny and the B is for my last name. The 327 is because I dig the 327 chevy....Think it's gonna be changed once I realize how to change it.

Well I've been working in a suspension shop for the last ten years. I spend a lot of time rebuilding old springs and other parts. I wanted something that had at least a little bit to do with what I do. Some times I want to change it but I do not know what I would change it to.

I consider myself a recycler because I take old thrown away junk, give it some TLC and put it back to good use. Brad

    Please?

In terms of effectively spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to hoodlums world wide, this thread certainly ranks among one of the very longest.
