  3. I worked on Farms in Kansas, moved to California with the USAF....when folks found out I was an old Kansas boy who did farm work and my name's John, they started calling me Farmer John....it got shortened to Farmer by my car buddies, the Hamb, and the guys I surf with. Now it's tattooed on my wrist so I guess i'm Farmer for good.

Well, I live in a little town at the end of a 500mile dirt road, in the Northern Territory in Australia, the title on the Number plates out this way read "Outback Australia". It's also a name I use on other Forums.

Mass Butcher: I live in mass, and I belong to the Blacktop Butchers car club. And lately "butcher" seems to describe my fabricating skills.

Heh, I see I wasn't the only one to think of that...;)

My username is also my nickname. It came from being a big Ghostrider comic book fan when I was younger. Johnny Blaze was Ghostrider's human form...Johnny was dropped and I've been Blaze for years...

Well the Blown should be obvious and since I'm 67 the 49 can't be my age so I guess it stands for my 1949 Mercury. I've requested personal plates from Ohio with the same text but I don't think they'reir going to give them to me. The girl at the local BMV said "That sound too suggestive, I don't think they're going to approve it!" I told her she apparently knew more about sex than cars and she didn't know what to say.

One wintery afternoon I picked up a surf -hotrod cd. There was a song about a goofy footer Hodad. I liked the name hodad.. about the same time I was looking for information about the old style hotrods and customs.. I joined up with hamb.. and Hodad seemed like a cool name.

  17. I think newbies that pull this thread back to top should be commended for either doing some research here on HAMB or at least reading old posts.

My Family has Mayan (like the Mayan indians) blood running through it somewheres and my Dad who knows some words from the Mayan language has called me "Malix-pec" (pronounced Mahleesh-peck) since I was a kid. Malix means mutt, or mixed blood.. Pec means dog...

So my nickname is Mutt-dog in Mayan

Jonnyhotrod... Beyond my obvious appreciation of old cars, I figure that I can use the name as my Porno stage name at some point.

Mine is pretty simple. I'm from Arizona, and I'm building an A-V8. Actually a '29 roadster pickup on a '32 frame powered by, what else, a flathead V-8. Not exactly completely an "A". Most A-V8's were Model A frames and bodies with Henry's favorite V-8. But A bodies on '32 rails qualify, sort of.

Oh, yeah for Katzenhammer. The word in the comic strip was "katzenjammer". Its German for what we call "kindergarten". Hope that doesn't spoil your weekend. Now, the rest of you guys, don't pick on him..........too much.

    This thread is GOOOOOD reading.

Hmmm, part of it is a lifelong fascination with the Phoenix.

I also like to play with metal, especially steel.

But if you look deeper in to it... the cars we try to bring back to life can be represented by the Phoenix as well, and they are for the most part made of steel. The Steel Phoenix can rise from the "ashes" of time as something new.

I also like fire... fire represents creativity, transformation.

Okay, if that's too deep, just go with the first two lines. That, and my computer geek/artist handle (PixelHawk) I use on other boards wouldn't fit here too well. :D

You have a good point. Although I'd say that they should actually read the rest of the post that they're responding to.
