  3. After a lot of friends and family pestered me my whole life it seems, I decided to get into automobiles like the rest of them. I think all my relatives are into 1)dragracing 2) stock car racing 3) truck/tractor pulling. So I bought an old 50's front engine dragster with a 300 6 cyl ford engine in it. Sold my Piper aircraft so I needed a "new" hobby.

Anyway, "tailgunner" is what they used to be called, and that's why I used it.

I work at Hi-Speed Rods & Customs, and was lacking creativity one night - and voila - Hi*Speed.

GREASE MONKEY CUSTOMS was the name of my custom shop, untill we moved to the new location,(in the city) the local "grease monkey oil stop" threw a fit over the name and even though after our corporate attourney and theirs talked and agreed that there wasnt anything they could do about my name legally, they said they would still drag us to court, to fuck with us. so i just changed the name to EMPIRE CUSTOMS INC.

fuck em...they can have their 19$ oil changes i dont want em!..lol

Had the body for 9 years now. Ionia Hot Rod Shop built the Chassis (#1) for it. Maybe some day I might actually get it pulled around to drive.

Got caught up in a piece of farm equipment when I was a little kid and injured one are badly. Have somewhat limited use of it so the other arm got used more. The result is that one arm is much larger and stronger than the other.

Along with my hot rods I recently owned a '65 Plymouth Hemi Belvedere sedan for several years. When my son signed me up with AOL as a 59th birthday gift he used the name "Hemi" ,for my car, and "Farris" for my last name, hence hemifarris. I just kept it when I signed up for this site. I use a different name when I go to the racing snowmobile sight.

Well, my name is Jan(is) and I've been accused of having a junkyard by every neighbor I've ever had, so...... I'm also GalaxieJan or Tbirdchick on a few other boards and those are self explanatory. Junkyard herself.....;)

I used to have some gastro-intestinal issues in high school. Real smelly. Went on a rowdy road trip with the boys. After hearing Humble Pie's "Thirty Days in the Hole", the Joke was on me. The song became "DirtyTace's over the hole" (Last name is Tacey). It stunk. I mean stuck.

lowrollerchevy was the temporary name given to the 68 chevy truck project i had, while i tried to come up with something more fitting .... but the name stuck pretty good ...

couldnt think of a better name for a 68 chevy with a dodge bed and a pontiac 455 engine and a "last generation" camaro front suspension ... beside "mutt"

my other screennames i use on other boards are:

    1) HotRodKid ... simple, and "HRK" works well for shorthand, i can meet a bunch of guys off the local board at a party or meet and just say im "HRK" and they all know me instantly
    2) 2hellinanhandbasket, because ive been told thats where im going and how im getting there
    3) NastyPornInTechnical .... cause thats how i got banned the 5th and final time from the "other" local car forum .... but it was funny as all hell in the process :)

a few years ago i came upon this band called Slipknot. this was before they became popluar and whatnot. anyway, their sampler/keyboardist went by the alias of 133 MHz (megahertz). i thought it was a cool name and i'd use it as my screen name for message boards. yeah, it's gay hahaha.

  25. you know who Buford T. Justice is of course... I was becoming a member and needed a name, had just watched Smokey and The Bandit, and knew there was a guy named Butt Reynolds on here from lurking...good enough for me. Plus I have a gut like the namesake.

  26. Ok, here go's. I deal with a guy in Japan doing some Import/Export. Well he saw some of my projects a couple of years ago that I built here at home, and in his heavy Japanese accent he say's " You are Crazy Backyard Builder ". Still make's me smile today, I still can hear him saying it.

Well... ya know, since i`m collecting OHV conversions and stuff... I thought converting the early panhead front fender emblem onto the cowl of my model a OHV would be cool..
