Technical What the hell is this??

This has been floating around in my car parts stash for 25 years. It has a 1/4” hole and an Allen set screw it’s about 1 1/4” tall. Probably not even automotive but....

 

Looks like a 56 Chevy.

Looks to me like a '49 Ford dash knob.

Ehhhhhhh, I think it's a 51 ford wiper knob. Radio knobs had a little spring clip and a flat spot inside that corresponds to a flat [or slot] on the radio shafts. Wiper knobs had the set screw.

 

Set screw on my knob; I don't think so!!! I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
