What the??

I dont know whats going on with the new fashion trend where its now cool for upper class mall rats to start wearing von dutch clothing, i was checking out the website for a alittle christmas shopping and found out that their chanrging 42 bucks for a black tee shirt!! I saw a girl at my girlfriends college the other day and she had a von dutch trucker hat on? i went up to her and played dumb and asked her about her hat.. She had no idea who he was, shes was like "i dunno, i saw it on Mtv".. Even though these are people of my own generation, i guess it just makes me upset that they dont know about the history of somebody, and then go and try to make it profitable... if im way out of line here just let me know, but if anybody could relate to this i though you guys could. thanks for letting me rant.
