you could tag along with someone if your in san diego the weekend of june 20th to the LA ROADSTER SHOW.
Some HAMBer needs to help this guy out! Take him on a "personal tour" Last time I was down there I had a blast in Coronado.(Coronado Brewing Company) Someone else mentioned Balboa Park. The Auto/Air Museum is a good way to spend a day.
San Diego Trolley Map. The El Cajon Cruise this afternoon is out in East County (see El Cajon on the right). I would take you, but I am stuck at work today until late. It should be great today, it's the opening day for the whole Spring/Summer. http://www.sdmts.com/Trolley/Trolley.asp#schedule
You should hit up Tower Bar for sure, and if you are a fan of tequila, hit up Cantina Mayaguel on Adams. you have to try the scorpion tequila!!!
If I take the trolley to El Cajon Orange line, how far would I be looking at to get to the show and which direction to the show?
SAN DIEGO AUTO MUSEUM HAS "THE HOT ROD THEN AND NOW" COLLECTION, PRETTY COOL. http://www.sdautomuseum.org/ AND OH YEAH "DICKS"
The show is on Main Street in Downtown El Cajon. Here is the website for the show... http://www.downtownelcajon.com/event_ccc.shtml
Santana's for a California burrito after cruising PB to ogle some college ass, or even better is eating a california burrito whilst cruising through PB persuing college ass.
the trolly dumps you on main street ant then walk down it you will see it in just like 5 mins listen to Joe too.
and definetly go to Tijuanna its not as dangerous as they say only like two american tourists were ever killed in the violence. my parents live south of rosarito and go there most weekends they drive an 08 lexus or an 09 GMC yukon and noone ever messes with em, youll be fine as long as you dont fight when you drink, the federallys come out of the woodwork for that.
Damn Joe, kinda reminds me of when we were young and just used to spend lazy Sundays going driving around downtown - that was still when downtown San Diego was full of homeless, junkies, that pool hall (Hard Times), and the coffee shop (Java) we all used to go to. That is before all the money came back downtown and they started the revitalization projects...
Remember the Orient? or when Dicks last resort used actually be fun? Used to be able to see the bay and the Santa Fe station from my parents porch on 20th and E street.
Twisted kilt...restaurant/bar shiety medeocre food....Awesome wait staff! (can you say plaid bra's and plaid mini kilts?) within walking distance of where your tied up.... Dunno when Pamona swap is....but if it's when your there you may want to see if one of the HAMB'rs can hook you up with a ride....
Main street drop off from Trolley, head East on Main. Less than 2mi and your there. If you can get there around 3pm it's best. Stake out a table on the patio at Por Favor's restaurant on the actual strip and eat and drink to you hearts content. After the show on your way back to the trolley, stop at the bar that shares the parking lot with Jack In the Box. Not sure of it's name now, but used to be the Carousel.
I really had alot of good times downtown before they built Horton plaza. Sometimes progress isn't always that good.
have a shrimp taco at the cafe on the end of the pier at ocean beach. if you go to t.j- do NOT eat the bacon wrapped hot dogs!!!
Definitely go to Balboa Park, besides the Auto Museum there is a ton of other things to check out, went there late last year. Also check out Belmont Park and ride the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster built in 1925.
Tony, Sorry Haven't gotten back with you sooner. I will try to give you a call later. I did make it to the show in El Cajon last night and had a good time. Eric
this is the perfect post for me. We're gonna be Honeymooning in Cali at the end of October and it's always great to get the locals input on what to see and do.
Go onboard the clipper ship "Star of India" and go to Mt. Palomar Observatory. Don't waste you time going in TJ.
