Hey guys, I have an old used camshaft out of a 331 Chrysler Hemi I found in a pile of junk with some motorycycle parts. I assume since it's used it isn't worth much. What neat ideas have you guys come up with for a use for them? I did see a thread on here with a couple of uses for them. I know you guys have come up with some great ideas, post em here!

I keep one leaning against the door frame of the shop and use it to help remove unwanted visitors.

I've been thinking about fabricating some end brackets and using one for a towel rack in the bathroom.

Had a chance to get one out of an EMD locomotive once. Thought it would have made a great mailbox post.

Leave the timing gear on, and with a little welding magic make a lamp. I have a great bench lamp I made from a 4.3L Chevy cam.

paper towell or shop towell holder.. weld it to a timing gear at a 45 and mount the gear to the wall with the 45 pointing up and slide your roll of hand wipers on it.

early hemi cam? I'd sell it on ebay.

Used small block chevy cam? They all seem to end up in the scrap heap, each one is worth a few cents when I haul in a load of iron.

    ROTFLMAO! :D
I've been collecting them and plan on doing a couple of side tables for the living room with flexplates and glass on top.

So many projects, so little time.

I've seen people use them as spreader bars and split bumpers. They look cool!

  20. They a good cam bearing ream for when you knick one that you have just installed and cannot get the new cam shaft in. You cut a flute in the journal and slid it in until it stops then turn it and apply slight pressure until it goes.

I think the best use for a used camshaft is to walk by the new guy in the shop carring it like its a 3 minute old baby then "accidentally" trip over anything convienient that they left laying on the floor and drop it, It will usually snap in two when it hits the floor. Then watch how big their eyes get when you say"Who the hell left that laying there?"
