What to do with chrome slots?

i think they would look fine painted but think the silver or aluminum color would look too lowbuck like you were trying to spray chrome them i had a set of these for several years as frontrunners on a couple cars i had,, and painted they looked just fine one time it was black the other time was blue

 

That looks like a great way to revive a set of old chrome reverse wheels that I had on the '47 Hudson.

 

Just thinking out load, I've got a cheap bead blaster I may try to get a uniform rough finish and try the cast aluminum paint, otherwise i'll sand that smooth and go black.

Or I like the idea to just metal finish them and clear coat if that would hold. It may look better than a painted finish.

I tried the silver and didn't like how it looked. I've heard good things about it and used the rustoleum appliance epoxy and got a real good shine, but I roughed up the wheel a little to much with the flap disc removing the top layer of chrome. Good and bad, I found a cracked sidewall on my f78 14's so don't have those to use anymore. Rather find it now than a blowout at 100+ mph.

I also ordered up some wheel centering rings to center and support these to the rotor and had to cancel the order. I went with black steelies for the front instead.
