A couple weeks ago at the primer nationals a couple guys aproached me while i was next to my truck they were very interested in it, they started talkin to me about it and asked if id like to sell it i told him ive only been driving the thing a month after working on it for 8 months and i was not to sure, usually i sell everthing no matter what it is, so i told him to let me think about it , about thirty minutes later he came back in his leather pants and leather jacket along with his boyfriend i suspect by the looks of these guys. he offers me 9 grand cash right now and he want to drive out of the show, i was kind of taken back by it at first. i still was not sure at the time considering i have about 7 grand into it, i got his number and he took mine. by the time i got home he had already called me ten times buggin me, he started raising his price i asked him why my truck what is it about it its nothin special... i kept turning down his offers cus he was freakin me out, for the past two weeks he has called me over 200 time along with text messages and this guys like 50 years old so i have told him over and over its not for sale and he keeps pushin and pushing saying what is it goin to take for me to get your truck. so now this weekend he want to bring me 14 grand cash hes tried meeting up atleast twenty times to buy this thing but he trips me out, but thats alot of money and alot more then this things worth. should i let the guy buy it and watch him and his boyfriend driving my truck around or should i tell him to fuck off like i have about ten times? heres a picture of my truck its a 50 chevy 4"dropped axel dearched front and rear springs 4 inches all new wiring rebiult 216 motor with fenton headers and offy intake rebuilt generator and starter redid gas tank and radiator all new brakes and lines new glass new bed wood c notched anda few other things dont mind my girlfriend its the only pic i have of my truck joey
Sell it, there's plenty of those pickups around.... you can find one already done for $14,000.... Keep the chick though!
you got 7 grand in a truck you've had for less than a year and some fuck offers you $14,000.00... you either take it or grow a pair and tell the guy to fuck off and get the fuck away from you...
yup about seven months ive done alot to it in a short time, ill sell it but i think hes up to something weird nobody should be like that about buying something. ]joey
A friend of mine and I were talking about business and money one day...I've been lucky enough to have jobs that I've always liked. The pay sucks, but I've always liked going to work. My buddy said "that's stupid...you spend less than half your time at work each year, even if you work a lot. During that time, you should be making as much money as possible, so you can enjoy the rest of your time...which is why you work anyway, right? So you can enjoy your house, family, hobbies...Hell, if I could figure out a way to get rich cleaning port-o-johns, I'd do that 5 days a week!" So, with that same philosophy in mind, call the dude tomorrow and tell him you'll take his $14 large, cash, and send the truck down the road. Almost all my junk has some sort of sentimental value attached to it, which screws me. I have four vehicles, two of them I can't ever sell, one I might, but the fourth? Even though my 12-year-old loves it, for a 100-percent profit, it'd be down the road quicker than you can say "Ben Franklin." And I'd be looking at a lot less than you are. If it doesn't have any sentimental value to it, sell it: buy some shop equipment you've always wanted, get another project, or build the project you couldn't afford this time. -Brad
It might end up in an Old Navy store. I was in one tonight. AD Chevy 3-window pickup, suede blue paint job, and the engine still in it. I wonder if the keys were in it. Thanks, Kurt
take the money and build yourself another truck AND a rod. Its almost winter ,you'll need something to keep busy...
Did you see his girlfriend,he's got something to keep him busy!LOL I'd sell, but take one of those pens to check to make sure his cash isn't counterfeit.
This is a BS post. But I'm bored, so I'll pile on. If you wanted to sell it, you'd have sold it. If you wanted to keep it, you'd have figured out a way to "discourage" him. I'm amused how you're all freaked out because you think "he's up to something weird". Bro, the weirdness stops when he hands you 14k cash.
Sell it quick before he discovers it attracts girls! When the sale goes down, do it at your bank. Make sure he brings a check they can immediately verify and cash, or he brings actual cash.
I agree with alchemy. Do the deal at the bank. They can verify the transaction and make sure the cash or the check is good. If he says no to that, well, then I beleve he is up to something.
If it wasn't for sale, you wouldn't be wondering if you should sell it. Tell him to meet you at the bank with 15K. JH
Wow, where has this guy been when I had stuff that wasn't for sale? Or when I had stuff that was for sale for that matter? Sometimes the right buyer is where the right vehicle is whether the owner wants to be a seller or not. Just take the usual precautions when making a car sale and invest the profits for your future and start over on a new project. OR tell the guy the truck isn't for sale...and get another 5-6 grand out of him! HA
Are you kidding? You said that usually you sell everything. So, fast forward in time, when you're WANTING to sell it. You're gonna kick yourself for not taking more money than you will actually get at the time when you're ready to sell. I'll make it simple. STRIKE WHEN THE IRON'S HOT!
I gotta agree with most here, if he's offering you twice what you have in it and you expect to sell it sometime, take his cash and run. I would do as recommended and do this at a bank, unless it's actual cash then make sure you get one of those pens to make sure it actually is cash (and not monopoly money). Nice looking truck, I especially like the 'accessories' on the front of the hood.
Like the others have said, do the deal at the bank. Have the bank verify the realness of the cash he gives you. I just saw a program on TV about some new counterfit $100 "superbills" that are almost impossible to tell apart from the real thing. A long shot maybe, but better safe than sorry.
Only one gimp, if its cash, not a check, and it's over $10K they are gonna want you to fill out some paperwork for the DEA (unless something has changed). I don't know for sure what the limit is for checks, but I have heard it's 15 or 20K. It's why I recommended the pen, check for the watermark, the strip, micro printing, color shifting ink, etc.
The guy wants to give you TWICE what you have in a fairly easy to find truck, and it's even still up for discussion? You're killin me!
