In a Gerstner, I believe The Machinist's Handbook fits perfectly, however that drawer exists in so many other chests but is much larger like in my Craftsman chest.

It is a narrow deep drawer so what is it good for storing? (I use 4 neodymium magnets to hold my numerical drill case on its front.)

It's like a junk drawer in your house, anything and everything goes in it! :p

I used to keep the stop watches and timers in that box along with rule books from different racing associations along with a few different types of volt meters and stuff like that.

I also kept our licenses from the I.K.F. and W.K.A. in case they wanted to see them.
I miss those days a lot since we stopped racing.

One box has my steel wool and scotch brite pads. The other box has my handled wire brushes and old toothbrushes.

  14. I worked at an AMC dealership in the late '70s. I installed a lock on that drawer and told one of my co-workers that I kept a bottle of whiskey in it. He never walked past where he didn't check to see if I had left it unlocked. I really kept a couple of soldering guns and a roll of solder in it, along with a good set of drill bits.

  15. I would put bulky, power tools in any deep and dark drawers.

My toolbox has a "compartment" with its own special security lock.
I don't have any raunchy magazines....... but I suppose if I did, they'd be in there.

The center drawer on my Kennedy Toolbox for precision tools I used daily for several decades was not that big. However it was reserved for a few medical supplies like bandages, gauze, aspirin, a bottle of merthiolate, a magnifying glass with tweezers for slivers, etc. I still have that Kennedy almost 60 years later. Do they even make merthiolate anymore?

Good idea but not big enough! hahahaaaaa

I'm jealous!!!! (I've seen them too)

Work Gloves good idea (!) My gloves are multiplying like rabbits. I have bags of them. And then there are the orphans (even more bags). What am I going to do? I even quit feeding them....

BOTTLES! Brilliant, I have too many of all sizes and I can think of shorter ones that would fit nicely.

Another good one, I have too many, although i have another drawer for them, good idea.

"Machinist's Handbook" is the "Correct" answer, but it's commonly called the Whiskey Drawer.

I have way too much stuff in that drawer. Things are always stuck in there and making it a real pain to open.
