Technical What to put in that Tall Center Tool Box Drawer

    A guy who worked for me kept a couple of beer’s in the tall drawer of his Craftsman toolbox until he didn’t…

    Well, since the OP said the drawer is larger than a machinist' box, the obvious answer is: the Orig Machinist Handbook, also the latest updated Machinist Handbook...

    I used to keep a metal band-aid can full of loose change, my keychain, a plastic film canister full of white lithium grease, and some hard candy in the tall center drawer of my Kennedy top box.

    My old walnut gerstner tool box has two tall drawers as said a set of transfer punches and the machinist bible 6682723C-685D-4DA1-A0A5-7B8A6790863A.jpeg

    My center top drawer isn't a extra depth drawer, but it still gets used as a catch all on both of my roll around top boxes. It's the place I always go to when I'm looking for something I don't use much.

    Lately, I have been using that drawer for 4 1/2" flap discs and a catch-all for small rotary wire brushes. You can stack and organize lots of flap discs, cutting, grinding wheels, etc. The drawer is the perfect width. DSC07343.JPG
