Two best/favorite tools I have are my Lincolin SP-135+ welder and my dewalt 4.5" angle grinder. Grinder can be used in place of saws, sanders, polishers, etc. Welder, well welds! A good Drill is 3rd on that list of most used/usefull tools. Fourth would be a GOOD set of drill bits. Fith, a BIG hammer.

With all this talk of blowjobs I'm kinda curious. You guys want them from your wives for Christmas right?? They in return get what from you for Christmas? Household items? Socks? Exactly what is a blowjob worth in todays dollars, or should I say instead, "gift exchange" :D

The brown sugar hoe's here in H-town still charge $10 to suck yer dick. Or so I've heard.

For anyone that has to fabricate metal: a Shrinker-Strecher. Mine was stolen & I'm lost without it. If I had any hope of getting anything (I don't), I would add to that garage doors, a well, & a 4' brake & shear.

An air compressor that will keep up with a sand blaster. Just about killed the little Walmart one before I got the "big" one.

I can't help you with the b/j, but I did build a decent 36" sheetmetal brake outta scrap. It was a half day project, but it works great for 18 gauge, and cost under $50 to make. I had some plans for a small(like 12" wide)brake, that I just supersized to make a 36" brake. I'll see if I can dig them up

Dear Santa, I would like a left handed screwdriver. I have bin good all year.

  11. Diamonds!! She gets DIAMONDS!

  12. How about a set of wireless headphones. on't know how I ever worked in the shop without them. I sure do get to listen to a lot of TV now - still can say I don't watch it;) Make those noisy menotinous jobs go by quicker. Plus at this time of the year they keep your ears warm!

Also, never leave for the shop without a Maglite on one hip and a Leatherman (actually a Gerber - they don't pinch your palm when they close) on the other hip. They sure do come in handy.

One of those "miner's lights" for your forehead can come in handy when you're under the car and don't have a place to hang the flourecent (sp) drop light.

And I second that thoght on the Gearwrenches - they're awesome, but make sure you get the reversable ones. The non-reversable ones I have go in the wrong direction 100% of the time:(

  13. One of those point and shoot thermometers, a drill sharpener... and oh yeah... a vertical mill. Pretty sure I haven't been that good this year.

Good grief! My dearly departed mother used to tell me that all the time. I seem to be the only one in my circle of acquaintances that has ever heard that expression. So, back to wishing.

Let's see...drill sharpener would be nice...stubby air-driven angle drill would be good...a new paint gun....one of those body working spot welders with the nails for pulling out dents....sheet metal brake...any size would hafta be better than my bench vice....a valve lathe....coil spring compressor....one of those Reznor type heaters that hang from the ceiling in garage's....an air chisel....a prepaid gasoline card....a subscription to a quality car magazine...I love this kind of present, because when the mag is monthly, it's like getting Christmas every month....

The small stuff I get for my friends, those little gifts that let them know you care, but are in the $25 an under range. The huge boxes of sharpies, self centering tape measure(the ones with fractions, and the bottom line that reads 1/2 of the measurement) saftey glasses, spring loaded center punch, drill index from home depot/lowes(not great, but nice to have, and there is no such thing as too many drill bits) case of brake parts cleaner, case of paper towels, hose clamp rack assortment from CarQuest, big tub of old fashion gojo hand cleaner with wall mount pump, small flashlights, spot weld cutter, new shop broom, dust pan with a handheld brush, magnetic pickup tool, shop rags, oildry, and the list goes on.

These are not cool like a new plasma cutter, but I think everyone here would be able to use one of everything on the list if it was given to them.
All the stuff above is the stuff I am always buying for my shop. Some of the things are consumable, some just grow legs and walk away.

When I was racing, I spent a week in a friends shop thrashing to get a truck done to go the first race of the season. He was paid, but the day I was leaving I bought about 1/2 of the list above, as my way of saying thanks.
It was better than Christmas, he was so greatful, and more than likely remembered the giving of the gift for a long time, or at least until the Sharpie markers all walked off.

A vise mounted mini English Wheel for making small parts and repair panels...oh fuck, I'm already building that. Ok then, a nice Buick Nailhead eng/trans combo for the 54 Chevy PU. Shit...what if I change my mind to a 348 tri-power? Alright then, lemme see...tools...too many already. Car parts...yeah but which ones 1st? Garage...got 3 now. Air compressor...2 of those. Welders...4 of those and unlimited use at work for the really kool stuff. JEEZUZ! WTF DO I WANT FOR XMAS?

Fuck it. Totally O/T and I don't give a fat rat's ass...I want a fuckin Price Performance 1000cc top end for my Mach Z!! Yeah!! That's what I want!! Just the thing I need to cure my speed addiction from Dec thru Mar. Not a hot rod you say? Well what the fuck would we call a conveyance that weighs under 800lbs with rider and fuel that has over 220HP? AND it has my guardian angel stuck on it...a genuine 3x4 inch "Rat Fink" decal watchin over me as I ride. Yeah, that's what I want for XMAS.

I've got an oxygen/acetylene cutting and welding set up on my Xmas list. My mom laughed at me.

I kinda want an iPod too. All they play is rap in the gym, and my '57 only has a tape deck; would solve 2 problems

    Air nibbler
    BFH
    10' break (I'm dreamin')
    good set of work gloves
Cutoff wheels always come in handy
    Everyone needs a good multimeter
Plum-bobs are often overlooked 'till needed
36" scale and some triangles for drawing
Those 0 degree Mac ratchets are cool. I just wish the heads were smaller.
I'll take an english wheel. Hell, make it two, with a planishing hammer.
Threaded angle drills are great, but pricey.
Welding magnets. Can't have too many. Clamps too!
    Clecos
Fuel pressure gauges are cheap at Sears, and when you need one... you need one.
    Dwell meter/ tach... timing light.
We could be here all day.

Since I'm always in the garage I'm asking for a set of eating tools so I can eat and work at the same time. Thats my first choice. My second choice is a CNC machine and it'll be just my luck that I won't get my first choice.
