I Bolt the garage door shut from the inside and unplug the opener when not home. I also like the wheels off idea when in storage.

All in good fun, however some dumb SOB might believe they can shoot a thief 'cause they read it here (or anywhere else on the net). We have a justice system, however flawed, that discourages vigilantism.

In Texas at least, you used to be able to shoot someone stealing your property. Case in point, a young guy that shot a cholo stealing his car radio. He told the guy to drop it and leave, he said eff you and got back to stealing, and the dude shot him, DOA.

He beat the rap, no charges filed.

The family sued in civil court. I don't know how it shook out, but I'm certain it was more expensive for the shooter than the price of a car stereo.

Be damn careful who you invite into your garage and I have an alarm system in my garage. If it goes off I will shoot the son of bitches and in my book that is not vigilantism just protecting my stuff.

Non at this time but seriously thinking about it,I would like to do something to keep the driveshaft from spinning so it cant be pushed like the thiefs done with the 57 convertible.

Another idea i came up with----this is not a complete solution, but a slowdown tactic, is to always take the licence plates with you when parked.

Make the mounting holes different---either very small or very large so that in the unlikely event that the thief is carrying his own licence plates, he will have trouble putting them on----takes more time.

A car driving around without plates is likely to get spotted easy by the fuzz.
