Find a $100 80's Caprice or Impala and use the frame, floors, drivetrain etc. The wheelbase should be pretty close, you might have to shorten it a bit. Then you have your rear end already mounted, no need to mess with clips etc... **** you'll even get a tilt column.

Go down to the S10 store, pick up a cheap one and cut the body off, set your body on it and drive it around the block!

looks like theres a lot of good metal there to work with, me i would have a hard time finishing something someone else started in the case you wanted to do it different.

just get the right back window and put it in...should have it done in a week...surely there are a few still out there in the boneyards...at least you don't have to do the chop....spray on some black primer, and drop in a straight six and go!!!!....
