  1. Also, Kendrick Automotive in San Antonio (I remember it back when it was on Fredericksburg Rd, but it's moved several times since then).

Jake's Speed Shop in New Orleans, La. Growing up we would just go there to dream of the parts and wheels we wanted

It has been mentioned multiple times on here. And even with a 1962 photo on post #135. Here is a later photo from 1966 of the S&S Parts Company in Falls Church, Virginia. Pretty cool shot with the Stone-Woods-Cook Willys (blue with gold stripe) and the KS Pittman S&S Willys sitting beside the building. The good old days!!

Honest Charley's when I was in high school in the early 80s. I used to love to go in there and look around. they also had a bulletin board that people would put the used parts they had for sale and that was awesome. That is the only thing I really miss about the store now.

Vic Hubbard's when I lived in the Bay Area, and Doug's Speed & Sport in Silver Spring , Maryland. I bought my first set of deep-dish Astro Supremes Chrome Reverse wheels for my '58 Impala. After that, I was hooked!

Not beating a dead horse but Super Shops were good IF you knew what you wanted when went there. Walked out of there once in Albuquerque when the guy insisted that I buy a tube of Simichrome. He hept pushing it saying "You won't believe what this can do" as I replied "Yep, made me go to Yearwoods"

county speed shop in st. louis was quite the beehive of activity in the '60s. something that added to the attraction (for a teenage male) was the olympic drive-in show across the street, which featured "nudie" films. we'd watch for free from the speed-shop parking lot!

  24. The only "speed shop" in my hometown was pretty well-known in the area. Actually had the chance to work there early in college...

    Southern Automotive in Greensboro, NC

The Gusler Brothers - Bill was the go-to guy for anything Holley and was the "drag guy" - Nelson was in the "roundy-round" circle, actually ran a Baby Grand car at Daytona and Rockingham.

Gratiot Auto Supply opened up a store while I was in High School in nearby Woodhaven MI, it was only there for a year or two. Ramchargers was the next closest shop in Taylor, still have a catalog of theirs from the 70's. Sometimes we'd run up to Mayfair.

I remember Kelly's & Racers Alley from Terre Haute. I grew up in West Terre Haute never knew about Lowes. Where was it located?

I now live in Indy and frequent Automotion quite often. Also Two Lane Performance narrowed a reared for me.
