Discovering the Friday Art Show here on Hamb ( check it out people ) and returning to acrylic open air painting with this 3 hour effort was a blast and a challenge.

Cranked up the 292, drove around the block. From now on all of the little projects on the big project will be done in one day or two. I'ts just too much fun to work on it without a driving rush a couple times a week.

For me it was 4 weeks ago , started on my 34 coupe after waiting 6 years to get to it.

 

became a church leader (strange deal) and learned what humble really means! discovered the hamb and again, learned what humble really means!

Being a part of and building this chassis for the Teixeira Willys.

 

Getting a new project truck and chopping the top.

 

Drag racing with the wifey...it was her first time, and all she did was get faster. she didn't even freak out when we broke it, and was pretty shocked when I fixed it at the track.

I was working at a pro shop when she met me...I think she finally realized how big a part of my life Racing used to be. and I KNOW she realized how much more fun it is to be driving rather than spectating. I am also sure she is baffled by the fact that I would rather be tuning than doing either one...

in 2 days, she made over 20 passes...I think she only got out of the car to pee.....

Got an interior...
Started the HAMB Merc Club...
My Merc made it in the HAMB calendar!
Was asked to run the Merc Drive In...
Best Buddy,5051 had a boy!
My house survived the Yorba Linda fires...
Most of all....drove the Merc to the Primer Nats and DROVE IT BACK HOME TOO,hahaha...sorry AAA!

Being the recipient of a brand new computer and monitor compliments of the H.A.M.B. in the Slots O Doom benefit that Ryan, Johnny Ace and the Primates CC put on. See the "Acts of Kindness on the HAMB" thread for the whole story. Now with the 22" monitor even my very damaged eyes can look over all the great things on the HAMB again! Thanks again everyone! Getting everything on my to do list for my 56 Buick done on time. Drove it more this year than any before. Also realized I could do my own upholstery!

 

The first great moment was convincing my wife to finally leave the big city and move 700 miles away to a rural town in Manitoba.

The second was buying our dream house, this wonderful 100-y/o place...


The third was buying the Essex from an old high-school friend and finally getting back into hot rodding after a 5-year hiatus.

 

Turning 40 and getting this for it



and I may have gotten laid sometime this year.

 

Sadly the birth and also death of our son . It helped me realize how important and strong my family and friends are .

 

In 2008, since about 6 years I found myself on the dragstrip again, in a car this time.
The car was my '60 Chrysler with a 500 inch stroker motor and longram intakes under the hood.
Felt good powering the beast down the strip although it was only for an 8th mile at a time because of a driveshaft imbalance.

Another best moment was just recently when a week before Christmas my '57 Chrysler arrived at my garage.

 

1. seeing my daughter get married

2. seeing my dad get remarried

3. watching my son compete at the national SKILLSUSA competition and doing well

4. going back to a dragstrip taking pictures after a many year hiatus

 

Hands down - getting my 100% homebuilt digger to the track and heating up the tires a little was a LONG AWAITED dream finally come true.
