  6. The day I found this '33 Olds ABANDONED on the street in Chicago. I found the owner and he had called the city to tow it away. I convinced him to give me a bill-o-sale and took it home for FREE........

  10. the good:

Finally finishing my dream garage, bigger than my house, built with my own bare hands out of sawmilled trees from our backyard.
First wedding anniversary, going good so far.
    Finishing my XS650 bobber
Wife's new Model A RPU, I get to enjoy it too

    the bad:

Wife still has more rods than I do, and hers are closer to being on the road than mine!

    3 things come to mind
1)Twenty five years with a beautiful woman. Don't know how she puts up with me
2)After 15 years of planning and wishing, the new garage/house project is started
    3) A dream job, and they called me!

The wife calls me on the phone (at the shop) and says, I am going to have sex tonight, and if you get home soon, it might even be with you!

I STAYED AND WORKED OF THE HOTROD!

Al: If you want to have sex, the kids will have to leave.
Peggy: If you want it to be good, then you will have to leave.

    Peggy: Did you miss me?
Al: With every bullet, so far.

  18. This very moment. When after reading this thread.
People going thru some seriuous trial and tribulation and surmounting those problems.
Just puts my whining in perspective.to all the dads and grandpas recent and on going, more power to ya!

Happy new year!......god bless to all.

  19. I finnaly talking the man out of the '55 F-100 I fell in love with many years ago. Just an old work truck with a hot rod twist and a lot worse for the passing years but, it's mine now. Actually the high point of that day was going to haul it home with the boy wonder. You'd have thought I had just bought Elvis' Coupe Deville from the look on his face.

Worst moment - Finding out my son has cancer

Best moment - finding out it was Hodgkins Lymphoma and treatable! He should be in remission by March/April of 2009. Additionally, re-prioritized how I look at life and what is really important to me.......God first, then family - all the rest is just "stuff".

Best moments : When that nice lil' brunette visited me and stayed overnight :D U figure out the rest.:p

And a few weeks ago an army officer called me and said I could get into service again. That was a big personal victory for me,-cause everybody told me I wouldn't even get an answer when I told them I'd like to go to Afganistan and work for some time.

My next best moment will be when the -31 coupe is ready for the road. Aiming for may/june 2009.

Happy new year and the best of luck to all of you and the ones around you.:)

In my little hot rod world the best moments had to be:

#1) Re-doing my '53 Chev (Black Beauty), getting it back on the road and EVERY time I jump in it to go anywhere...

    Taking it from this:

    To this:

#2) Finding the Model A, bringing it home and getting it back on the road after a 30 year hiatus...

    Her long term resting place:

    First drive:

#3) Being at the Flats for the 60th Anniversary Speedweek with so many good friends. Definitely a time never to be forgotten!

Personally I have been blessed with so many great things- family, friends, new home and most importantly my health. Wishing you all a very Happy 2009!

  28. That's why my car is still in the build stage. Thanks, Mike

Followed by getting to see and having the privelege of hanging out with Rock'n'Roll legends the Sonics in London!
