Another great moment was after a long hard road of my son's complication having my friends and family come together to help by working on my '35 together. That meant a lot.

Getting through the year is always good. Turning 65 not so good. Retiring, great! Two records at El Mirage and two records at Bonneville, fantastic!!! But then again I'm stupid that way. I can only find the bright side to look on. Hoping 2011 will be as good.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!!

Rewired the '50 under dash - all went well, then had to rewired the optional factory turn signal switch - 7 wires - I have to solder new wires on the little panel - worked the first time!

    1. - Buying Victoria that big ol' rock she wanted.

    2. - Driving the coupe through the gate at the Revolution.

    3. - Watching my folks have a ball listening to James Burton at the Roundup.

  7. Prostate cancer in 2002...treated with radioactive seed implants. Live my life in 6 month increments (between tests). My PSA had begun to rise again, and my urologist had indicated that I would have to consider additional and unpleasant treatment if it continued to rise. Last test...it actually went down...that was a good day.

Also, and more importantly, none of my kids went to Iraq or Afganistan in 2010, and that was a welcome change.

All the best to y'all in 2011.

  8. Discovering and joining the H.A.M.B.,being approved for Social Security Disability (it almost covers the house payment, ha ha) and finally starting a thread on here that may actually wind up helping some fellow H.A.M.B.ers. Oh yeah. finally landed that Falcon wagon I've been trying to purchase since 1986.

  9. Sunrise on the salt.

  10. Car related - The day I brought home my '34 five-window that had been stored for over 10 years after the owners death. I told my my wife "the only thing better would be to find a deuce". Well, low and behold, I bought a '32 five window this month and should have it home mid-January. I'll post more info after I get it home.

I'm just an average Joe (read - far from rich) and never dreamed I would own either of these cars - yet alone both. I still can't believe it!

It's been a good year from a steel standpoint!!!

  11. First run at Eagle Field with the Flat Fed.....................
having my wife at my side at Eagle..........

  12. still having my parents, sisters, brother, and nephews in my life... other than that it has been a horrible year... broke up with my girlfriend on thanksgiving, then she begs for me to take her back, so i agree, then she breaks up with me again 2 weeks later on my bday... all because she was scared of a long-term relationship and commitment :( but like the saying goes... there are plenty of other fish in the sea...

  13. If we are staying car related spending afternoons working on the Willys Pickup with my granddaughter has been pretty cool.

The absolute best was her turning the key after we fought the fuel pump for an afternoon in the upper 20s. When the engine that hadn't been fired since probably sometime in the early '80s light off. Not because it ran, they always run, but the look on her face was priceless.

The bad...watching my 16-y/o cat go from a happy, healthy pet to being on death's doorstep in less than 24 hours. I've never had to go through anything like that before and it broke my heart seeing him like that. Having to wait for the vet to come by to put him down was even worse.

The good...building my first real workshop this summer! I've never had more than a tiny little unheated garage and this year I finally built a decent shop! My wife feels like I've left her for a building, I'm spending so much time out there! LOL

  16. Got a job and got back to work on my MG - 20 + years to get the head torqued ha ha hope to finally drive it for the first time ever in summer, '11!

Our baby got married in July, and we got The Worlds Greatest Son in Law. :) They are great next door neighbors too. Car wise my highlight was getting a 20 minute ride in a 1912 MERCER Raceabout, something I've wanted for 49 years! Thank you T-Head! Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2011!

Got a new grandson (Jake) and drove the 40 to Texas from Nebraska where we built it. Everyone is pretty healthy and I'm above dirt---not a bad year at all. Merry Christmas to all---

Spending Saturday and Sunday morning working with a good friend on his old Bonneville car only to see it end up at Pebble Beach. Retiring in May was pretty good as well.

Best part of my year was having KIRK! do a small feature my shop in the November issue of the Good Guys gazette. I'm still grinning ear to ear every time I think of it. Thanks again KIRK!
