51 F3 PICK-UP Girls in front the rest of the jug heads in back. flat head v8 4 spd smoke the tires twice. The 3rd time lost alot of oil out the side of the block. Buddy said it looked like a rod. I said "Yea No SHIT" As we push it off the road. And FLIP OFF all the Muscle cars that drove by laughin doin burn outs in my oil.
1962 Chevy Corvair.. Still in high school, too. Can't even drive the damn thing yet.. Ignore all the crap underneath. Having a carport sucks!
1935 Ford Pick up, 1950 Olds, and 1957 Ford Convertable. _____________________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, it's just like OKC, it sucks!"
I was poor than , just as now . My ride was a 1967 Fairlane with a 289 and automatic. Gave $500.00 for it . That was the last Ford I owned and it was 1973.
65 Pontiac 2+2 with 421 tri-power 4 speed 8 lug wheels and ran low 13's w/ 3.55 open rear. Wish I still had it
'66 Buick LeSabre 4-door. It was garage kept with 5K original miles. Wish I still Had it.... it had a 375 Wildcat in it, and for such a sled, it was fast!
1964 Chevy impala super sport. 327 with muncie 4 speed. Put a mild cam in it and sold lifters. Loved that car that was in 1968. sedanman
56 Ford wagon 312 with a 3 speed 55 Chevy 409, 4 speed, straight axle, rear fender wells cut out for 11" cheater slicks, interior 2 buckets and a roll bar. 63 Ford Galaxy 406 with three 2s, factory headers, muncie 4 speed Dam I wish I still had the 55 and 63 they both were red. 66-68
1960 Ford F-100 and a 1969 MGB-GT. Still have the MG but a differant F-100. That was in 1980, truck was 20 years old the MG was 11 and I paid $700 for each of them.
'64 GTO. Mirimba red with a black vinyl top and black interior. A 389 with 348 horsepower tri-power, Muncie 4 speed, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, bucket seats, console, factory tach and a remote control outside rear view mirror. The weak link was the rear end; it came with a SMALL 10 bolt single traction rear end with 3.23 gears. And no, I did not get it as a new car.
First car was this 69 Chevelle Malibu. Actually got it a week before my 15th birthday during freshman year, using my hay baling and 4H cattle money. $1200 as I recall, plus another $700 for wheels, tires, headers, glasspacks, 4bbl, 8-track. Looked nice but with a 307-powerglide combo it was a dog. Spring of junior year I swapped the Malibu for the black 67 Lemans. Badge on fender said "326" but previous owner had replaced it with a 421SD/TriPower/Muncie from an early GrandPrix. That sucker was a raped aped, and would have been the fastest car in my high school if not for my brother's 70 Chevelle SS 454. Damn you, Marty! On the way out the door of HS I had to get something more practical for college so I ended up selling the Lemans and buying a '74 Nova with an underpowered 350 and (believe it or not) 3 speed on the floor. Maybe the worst car I ever owned.
I drove the '65 Rambler wagon in my avatar when the weather was nice and this '67 C-10 the rest of the time. Still have both. Got the Rambler when I was 13 for $650 of corn detassling money and the truck when I was 14 for the price of getting it out of a guy's yard. Needed all new brakes. I'm 31 now so I've had both a little while. I really should thank my parents more for letting me drag home and keep cars when I was in middle school. Currently doing body work on the truck. Going to do home paint job and lower it. Truck is 283/3 speed.
My senior year I had a 87 t-bird, 74 Volkswagen Super Beetle, and a 78' Z28 Camaro=all original. I spent all my money on cars!
First High school ride was my 49 shoebox flatty and second year I totaled it out and then purchased a new 1955 Ford Fairlane 292 4bb with standard shift. Was one of the better cars I ever had.
Well I'd probably have been in high school when you saw her Don't think I had my license then though - otherwise it would have been me picking you up. Used to love it when the US ships came into port, oh to be 18 again
A cool 1978 toyota mini truck... yeah way bitch'in. My dad showed me how to lower it with a torch and I had Enkei directional rims (way cool for 1987). Got it painted and stripped, then realized how lame it was a year later.
'70 Buick GS455. Took 2 years of high school auto to get it drivable, still had about 1/2 turn of slop in the steering. Sold it for $1100. What are those things worth nowadays in muscle car land???
first car was a 1980 Buick Skylark, had a blown motor, friend Uncle owned the local salvage yard, helped me build a subframe, and we dropped a Grand National motor n drive train in it. Twisted that car all to hell an back racing - sold it at the end of summer for 4K, bought a 70 Chevelle stroked the hell out of it, State Troopers took my license after watching me pulling the front wheels off the ground while putting down a 5.0 Mustang(I HATED THEM). Got my license back, and after Graduation, bought a 84 Camaro Berlinetta, with a 396 shoehorned in(original owner dropped it in, and the kid I bought it from had no idea what it was) - every time you floored it, the digital dash would freak out and start blinking madly. About that time I started building bikes(I worked at Cycles USA) - built a Honda CB650 for draggin knees, and a Kawasaki KZ100z1r as a straight up drag bike - used to run low 8s on a combo of AVGas(aquired from the local airstrip) and a pint of alcohol mixed in the tank. Made quite a bit of money racing on V Street in DC with that beast...ended up losing my license for 5 years( had 49 points - revokation was at 12)
