There's another thread going on this

Doesn't look good. They've really made a mess of this deal anyway. It'll be completely blocked from view except for a VIP area (i.e. people who paid enough for tickets) I've heard that there was "grave side" tickets and then tickets to a similcast party inside the civic center. Not sure, when I heard tickets, I quit paying attention to that part. The funny thing is, I was looking over their website the other night and was suprised at how much they've got going that they are not promoting to the public here in Tulsa. If it wasn't for the HAMB, I wouldn't have known about Boyd. I haven't heard anything about him on local news or commercials. Love him or hate him, you know he's getting paid for this (my tax dollars at work) and you would think that they would want to promote that to the general public. Also found out that theres a sock hop with Fabian, Bobby Vee and the Chiffons (woo ho!), and again, no publicity. Kinda hard to sell tickets if you don't tell anybody. Even the cars shows are kind of a mystery. Even within the circle, I didn't realize until recently that there was both a invitational and open car show, didn't know that they were blocking off city street for it, and still not sure exactly where, and none of it has been publicized to the general public. Even on they're website, you gotta really dig to find this info. Took me awhile of searching around to find it. Welcome to government inefficiency, Tulsa style. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Actually I took off work and ran downtown and took all those pictures before they put up the plastic so the public couldn't see what is in the hole. There are several threads going right now.

  12. Boyd and some college students from some school are going to try and start the Plymouth sometime during the proceedings. I see there are numerous people in the world who "ain't" too fond of ol Boyd. The lady in Tulsa who's in charge of the event has received quite a lot of e-mail on that topic. We're going, from Joplin, anyway just to see what's left of the Plym and take the ragtop to the show.
