What will 5 bucks buy?

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Sep 28, 2023.

  1. On the way home today I noticed a yard sale sign across the street, normally I don't go to yard sales but since it was across the street I checked it out, they were setting up for tomorrow but said if I see anything just ask.

They had the normal yard sale stuff, cloths, furniture, pots & pans, but on the ground I spotted a old red tool box, I thought it was a bargain for 5 bucks. HRP

I used to hit estate sales all the time and have found some really sweet deals on all kinds of stuff. But the last time I spent $5 was when my granddaughter and I stoped to get a couple of 20oz sodas and I don’t have anything to show for it.

  5. That’s a nice size tool box to carry in the trunk of a car…

Stopped at an estate sale of an old racer and wound up with 10 sets of quick change gears for $5 a set.

Not a gallon of gas in some parts of the country, that’s for sure.

  8. These are both recent 5 dollar purchases. The headlight bar is 1932 Ford, talked him down to 5 bucks, a guy said it was worth 150 and offered me 80 as I was carrying it out to the truck. It of course is a better buy than the gm pickup wheel. I have a pickup, still waiting on the 32. 4CE2E539-56E7-437D-B75E-A3319B983C94.jpeg

Not a gallon of gas in California...:(

OP, I have a toolbox almost exactly like that. I took them as payment from a drummer, still has a broken drum stick in it...and I'll tell you, I've used that broken drum stick more than most of the tools in the box. LOL

The headlight bar is from a 4 cylinder car, I think the 4 cylinder looks better dropped than the V8.

    Wanna double your money?:D HRP

  15. That made me laugh, hope to use it someday, someway.
