If the car is a runner with a good engine, paint and interier, I would add A/C,as we old guys like comfort with looks. The second $1000.00 would go into performance improvements, engine or wheels etc. as needed.
Starting with a vehicle that ran adn drove good, was reliable and safe...and didn't need body or interior work?? That would be a fresh, exciting and totally new experience for me...but I'd likely go with a decent sound system, then have enough gas money left over to cruise the thing somewhere fun!!!
Squirrel, I have lots of ideas, but no $$- maybe we should get together For $1000- engine $2000- add the ******
More beef under the hood for 2000 grand for the 1000 I would get the new clutch and rebuild the 3 speed od ******
For $1000, I needs me a transmission to go behind the 445 stroker I'm planning on building. For $2000 i'd add the approx. $250 in change i've got sitting around in jars and buy that rotating ***embly I need for the above-mentioned 445. I'm with the guy who said he needed $3000!!!
$1K - the cherry magnesium spokes I saw at the Chickasha swapmeet last Friday. $2K - the wheels above and ALL of the superchargers at the swapmeet (6- 6-71s and and a 4-53). All were pulled from the original engines and would have required machine work to use but how many guys have a half dozen of them on the shelf in their garage?
