BONE stock 26 t doctors coupe, running and driving with banger, havent seen shape.... supposedly decent, not too much rust, but i mean hell, runs and drives... might be scorin one this saturday, if the gods dont curse me as they do normally when i talk about things.... i think it might be cool fendered stil, dropped, i kinda wanna keep the banger.... unless someone makes me a nice offer, LOL... i would sell all stock gear for nice offer that would allow me to make a frame, get rear and and juice brakes... i can come up with a motor and all... but idk, i mean it runs and drives, why go cutting it up and all... maybe just like a 5" drop axle with juice brakes in front, keep rest stock... /??? put better wheels on it, WWWs, idk... fenders worth anything??? i mean i know something, but about what? could be cool fendered cause i havent really seen any fendered ones drivin around with wwws and dropped... how do you drop the rear end with stock driveline?? i think banger would be cool, maybe hop it up over time... what do you guys think? what would you do? im not even sure what its worth... and no, for now, no pics....

  2. I'd give it to oldcarmike. He's a real swell guy and would truly appreciate the gesture. What's that? You've got another gesture for me? HOW RUDE!!

I'd give it to oldcarmike too. Heck, he's old... he needs it!

(I think he's old... is that old carmike or oldcar mike...) Either way he's old or likes old cars. He should get it.

oh, and his name is Mike. That is a nice name.

If it is that complete and I was getting a good deal on it, I would probably sell it and make some money. You can still find nice T bodies for $1500. You can get 3-4,000 out of a complete decent car. Sell the complete one and buy a good body since that is all you are going to use off of it anyway.

Get yourself a built Model A Ford ch***is with all the Rod features you want, unbolt the T body and fenders from the T ch***is then bolt them to the A ch***is, add gas, have fun.:D

You could take the body off of the running gear and sell me the complete ch***is with all the **** on it. I wouldn't mind having that.

I have a mostly stock '26 T roadster and I'm interested in what everyone else would do with a stock T as well. Keep the ideas coming.

i REALLY dig tall t's... like this is a dream car of mine... would be hard to sell, although i can see the thinking... i sound REALLY dumb, but i have to have an A ch***is to rnu anything coool, right? i cant keep the T ch***is and all and drop it, and run different wheels??? am i right??? i dont care about the banger, and i could swap to a 5 speed to get up better driveability.... just curious as far as wheels, and dropping if i kept as all t, i think it would be cool

First of all, if the T is running and driving have the seller teach you to drive it. EVERYONE should drive a stock T at least once in their life, it is where this hobby got its start. My daughter drove my '12 before the traning wheels came of her bike, she was 6 years old at the time. You would be hard pressed to use a stock T ch***is under a Rod today, great speedster base but not a Rod. Using an A allows you to use a lot of available parts. :)

Oh! If it has wire wheels and you deside to part it out I'm claiming first rights on them.:D

Keep the body & sell the rest. Don't chop it.

best idea yet... i would need to switch to banjo rear and all to run dfferent wheels, right?? i mean i want juice on front end.. what is best, EASIEST thing to throw on the banger for a trans?? i dont wanna toss a V8 and all in it, i just wanna maybe hop up the banger, different rear and and front end so i can run juice, and lower it.. i think it would be cool... banjos are easy enough to find anyways...

If it's got wire wheels on it, you could sell the wheels to '37 and the old rearend and front spindles to me. We need more info on this car. Got pictures?

Keep the banger, put a modern 5-spd behind it and an open banjo rear... Drop the front. Add juice brakes. Maybe later an aftermarket banger head...
    Have fun in it...

I don't think I could trash a running original. There are lots of bodies out there to do what you want with. Leave the complete cars alone.

Sell it to finance a hot rod. After you learn to drive it, of course.

51, Back to the T in question, you really can't bolt any other tramsmission to a T without spending a lot of money. Once you see a stock T crankshaft you'll wonder how 15 Million of them ever survived stock, never mind hoped up. I still think the swap the tin to a built A ch***is is the way to go.:D

For starters there is no bell housing on a Model T, oil pan runs the length of the engine and trans, AND has the rear mouter mounts built in. Do you plan to crank start it? If not you'll have to adapt a starter to your ****** swap.

i dont mind the work, im up for anything.. this car could be real cool... i want to know more about ****** swap

  25. If you get it, have the front and rear spring main leafs reversed, find some Model A wires, take the hood off and stick a couple neat speed parts in there, chop the top, make sure to adjust your mechanical brakes, and drive the damn thing!

Not many of us have the opportunity to work w/ a running, driving pre-war vehicle. Don't *******ize it. Think carefully...

No biggie, I prolly shouldn't have posted my comment:D but i've seen you post quite a few replies in cl***ifieds where you didn't promise to buy anything just that you would say something like "if i had the money i'd pick up on that in a minute" or to that effect. Those are pointless posts. I think there are rules on the HAMB about that kind of thing.

Sorry, I wasn't tryng to give ya a hard time. I mean this post will eventually be good for someone who actually has a similar project in their possesion and wants to build the same type of rod as you.. anyways ,Good luck. I hope you end up with it.:) peace out...

Thers a running driving A ch***is on ebay right now for like a 1000 bucks fenders and all. The ad says they pulled the roadster body off to build a hot rod and the rest is back up for sale. Its even got juice brakes and v8 wires. Add dropped axle and reversed eye springs and maybe even some hop up parts and go. Then just put your complete "T" drivetrain and what not up for sale. Theres plenty of restored "T"s out there, a Hot Rodder would Hot rod it. This is what I would do.

I think I'd do whatever I needed to make it half way safe and drive it. Stock/complete cars are getting harder to find every day. My grampa says "it takes some skill to drive one of Henry's early ladies". How cool is that.
