I contacted a guy to buy the jet tool and springs for a Stromberg 97 last Tuesday the 25th. He finally responded on Thursday, the 27th and said he would send them immediately the next day, Friday, February the 28th. Nothing showed up so I emailed again on March 3rd. Sometimes my packages go to a wrong similar address in my neighborhood so I didnt want to wait too long. He responded the same day and said the delay was due to US Customs, but it’s on the way and this time he gave a tracking number. Wait, what?? Customs?? I dont understand how Customs got into this. He said he would send my stuff the 28th and now its March 3rd. I looked at the tracking number and it said USPS had accepted the package that day in Kentucky. Kentucky is half way across the continent from me and most of the way across the continent from him in the wrong direction. I'm near the center of America and hes out west. The tracking number said the package would be delivered Friday, thats March 6, so I checked the tracking again today and it says it was delivered today, the 5th ---out west in his town. I emailed again and his response? --> I have a tracer on it from the warehouse. I should know more tomorrow. Warehouse? I dont see how a warehouse got involved a week after when he said he would sent my stuff the next day. What would you do? This all sounds so crazy, I think I should buy from somewhere else. I've already lost a week.
If you can, try to find out if he is a frequent seller of the 'kit'. If he is I'm guessing he just sells the item and the warehouse and shipping location is somewhere else. This is not uncommon. It sounds like the tracking number was legit so the shipment exists. But there also seems to be a screw up that may take a couple of days to straighten out. How did you make payment for the carb kit?
Is this an eBay deal? Kentucky is were you send stuff you sell overseas, then it goes on to were ever you sold it, maybe it works the same way buying from someone overseas? Bob
What the seller says, is irrelevant. Just because he says he's in city A, doesn't mean that's where it's getting mailed from. It may be shipped out of a warehouse in city (or state) B. The package was obviously mailed through the post Office, & you have a tracking number. Your local Post Office can help you, if you can't figure it out. You can look the number up online, & see exactly where it was sent from, & where it's been. Sometimes, the path to you will seem strange. This is due to cost cutting, & closing of several hubs. If it says it was delivered, & not at your address, it was probably addressed incorrectly. Check with the P.O. first, & then if they can't help you, you will have to get a refund or have him ship another. If you used PayPal or a credit card, you should be covered either way.
Or, you could have sent money to a 10 year HAMB'r and just got your stuff, right? BZZzzzzt...wrong answer Alex, lets try "I got taken too" for 160....
