They were his tickets, but he gave them to you, now they are your tickets. Most of these drawings require the ticket holder to be present to win--- they do this to keep people around longer so if your buddy left, he didn't qualify to win anymore but you did. Your generosity by giving him the prize that you won will probably strengthen your friendship in the long run more than "holding his prize for him" would anyway. Words matter and sometimes these prizes get pretty large. If he said keep (or watch) these for me, that's different. It pays to ask the question beforehand: "What if the ticket wins?"
The tickets were bought for a charity, right? Give the shirts to a couple of future hot rodders in need.
A friend bought 2 tickets for a tool box raffle at a car show. He gave me one ticket. I won the mechanics tool box (upper and lower set). I gave him the bigger lower tool box on wheels. We were both happy.
A real friend would split the winnings with you since you stayed. I would. However, if this guy is really your buddy you should just let it go.
we're talking about 2 shirts. what difference does it make? I got a buddy who for sure would be wearing the new shirt next time I saw him if it were my tickets and he stayed. ....now if it were a HAMB T-shirt there would be big trouble. otherwise it wouldn't matter.
