A lot of people on here have a lot of opinions on what the OP knew or didn't know about what he was looking at.
Also, what moral obligations he might have to the rest of the world. Really?

I'd like to see it restored, too. But, if he buys it and wants to part it out, that's his business. The original owner doesn't have much interest in it and everybody else can think whatever they want.

And this opinion has the same value as everyone else's.

Yeah i dont think he should be flogged or anything. Someone would have found it.
But give up the details. So it can be rescued...

You could also read the title and see clearly what it is about and not click on it, and of course not comment on it because you didn't open it if the subject bothers you so much. I learned about two different kinds of wheels, learned about their approximate value and got to see some photos of something I wished I had found. Sounds like a great post to me.

  5. The car was just at the Chicago Muscle car show in barn find condition and owned by a couple in Missouri. ..........guess Logghe did not get a chance to restore it, and Snopek did not get the wheels.

There were a few of those built by Logghe in the mid 60's for drag racing. The Haddad Brothers had one built also, I got to go to Motorcity Dragway with the team in 1965 when they ran it for the first time, Dale driving. 389 SBC with Enderle injection for power.

A buddy of mine stumbled on this car within the last year and made a deal for it within a few days. He didn't know what he had at first and bought it, cause it was a smokin deal. He did know it had some rare parts on it, though. Didn't take him long to realize it's pedigree and then decide what to do with it. Ended up selling to the current owners, who have the resources to restore it. I don't know why the OP was dinkin around, instead of pursuing this find, especially when you guys told him what it was. I do know someone from the Logghe family looked at and confirmed it, as "the car", but passed on the opportunity to buy it.

Goes to show you, the cream always rises to the top. Glad to hear it found a
good home, and it's shared with everyone....

  9. AAA Restorations in Minnesota are doing the restoration....they look to be the top drag car resto place from what I see on their website. Hope it gets done in the 1960 US Nationals time period look.

I just checked out their website and looked a the "current projects" tab and didn't see any pictures of this car.

However, there are a bunch of photos of other cars currently being worked on and they also have a photo gallery of completed work. These guys do some really nice work and have done some historically significant cars. I think I will be revisiting their website every so often to see if this car shows up.

  11. The car was just at the Chicago show in barn find condition, so they have not started on it yet. I am sure it will be years before we see the car done. The display sign said AAA was going to do the rest, and the new owner was also showing his Tignanelli's UFO altered wheelbase 65' that AAA restored.

  12. Car was just at the Chicago show in as found condition, so AAA has probably not started on it yet. The display sign said AAA was going to be doing the resto, so we probably will not see a finished car for for years. The new owner also had his Tignanelli's UFO altered wheelbase 1965 at the show, AAA also did the resto for him on that one.
