I tore apart the motor for my little bros camaro saterday and went thru it all. had a blown head gasket and i finaly found the mystery oil leak. And passed some knowledge down to my bro who has never touched a car before. The mullet mobile should be up and running in two weeks time since he cant get back over till then and im not doing this for him i want him to learn something. Ill be happy to have an xtra space in my driveway!:D

Saterday night I found out its bad to drive with solid motor mounts and broken trans mount. The motor in the 50 is cocked about 3 inches to the passanger side and grade 8 bolt on the mount is bent to hell. I planned on pulling the motor back out and re painting it and getting rid of the solid mounts any way. least now it will get done since i cant drive it any more.

O yea and Friday i got the garage all ready to go for winter and moved a bunch of stuff around and threw out a bunch of junk that ill never use. (why would i save windsheild stainless from a 4 door 69 chevelle?) The garage is much more "user freindly" now. O and friday night drank some beer with some gmb's at denise's party and saw some egorama pics.

one of the more eventfull weekends ive had in a while i guess.

I finished the control arm mounts made the shock mounts , lots of welding and fitting. all of this took any flex that was in the rear kick up out and should make for a much better ride. braces also dubble as the gas tank support.

Spent the day priming and painting all the steering parts, suspension parts and axles, front and rear for my '34. Did the frame a couple weeks ago. Now I can't wait until this coming weekend to throw it all back together, clean and shiny! Then I get to clean, regasket and paint the motor/tranny. Life is good.

I started working on my 53 chevy again...I have neglected it for about a year now. Oddly, I decided to start on it again when the weather turned cold, and I dont have a garage...the time just felt right I guess.

Pulled the frame out because it will make things so much easier, cleaned it up and painted it...then I went back to repairing the rust out, which is where I left off last time.

Got 1/4 of the basement rearranged. Moved the shelving around made it more organized. Found the missing box of parts to a car I sold last year, should make the new owner happy. The stuff that fulled three trash cars was truely trash. :D

  13. Watched my pontiac get loaded up on a shipper headed for California. They were supposed to show up Sunday, but called me on Thursday to tell me that they would be at my house Friday. bad news, I still had to put bumpers, mouldings and stainless back on the car, not to mention tailights, bodywork and priner. Pictures show that I almost made it, minus one stainless spear.

took a 4 hour drive to ventura.while looking for a hotel room i scraped the rear bumper and tore the rear license plate filler on my wagon.then first thing in the morning, i blew the driver side header flange gasket.after the primer nats (we left early) i proceeded to fix the gasket behind the local pepboys and took a hammer to the filler panel.i will purchase a new panel this week. -jimmy-

Friday nite had a bunch of cool Detroit Area HAMB GMB's, and the HAMB's favorite hauler BenD, over for a evening of hanging out, planning StinkyFingers chop, watching a slideshow of my Ego-Rama photos and one of the CD's of MF3.

Saturday morning took BenD out for breakie then over to FatHack's so he could pick up some stuff for Ravin61 then Roadstar and I headed out to the Ionia Hot Rod Shop for a visit with lurker Denny and HotRodDrummer. We wanted to check out the continued progress on the RPU. Main that thing ROCKS! From there we headed to the west side of Kzoo and picked up a rear end that Roadster purchased during a junkyard crawl we all went on in July.

Sunday was a day to get a few things done around the house, storm windows back on, trimming ivy around windows, trimmed up some trees in the back yard, watched a couple movies, beat Roadster in backgammom a NUMBER of times:D, just a nice relaxing day.

    Two weekends in a row I haven't touched Big Olds. :(
