Buick introduce the aluminum 215 motor, and is the 2-speed automatic that came behind them just a run-of-the-mill Dynaflo? Thanks.

    abone,...
I just found a motor and trans, still in the car, ('64 Skylark), at my buddy's scap yard, and he claims it's a 3- speed,...I thought he was bulls**tin', I didn't know they put 3-speed auto's behind 'em. I know you could get a 4-speed manual trans...

If it's a 64 Skylark, It's not a 215 unless it has been changed out. And thats not easy. A 64 should be a 300 ci. with aluminum heads, and a Super turbine 300 trans, which is Buicks version of a powerglide, many interchangeable parts. It also has a switch pitch convertor, 11" diameter, that will fit a super turbine 400. A 215 has different mounts, and bell housing bolt pattern than a 300 ci engine, but the 300 ci aluminum heads will fit a 215 block, and have bigger valves. I have a 215 Olds in the pile, same basic block as a Buick, but different heads.
