Hey Dudes and Dudettes Any clues on the year of this car? (1st pic) My Dad has had it for about 20 years! We are all Ford Dudes here, so we have no clue! It is a Chrysler/Dodge four door sedan! I spent half the day on the web, doing research on this car, with no luck. Then I thought of the HAMB! Someone on the Hokey Ass MB will know! My Dad thinks it is a 1926 or 27, but they all have a cut out door to fit the rear fender. The pic I posted has the rear door going straight down! It also has 2 door hinges, the 26-27 has 3 hinges. So i am thinking it is around 1920 to 22? The roof and the rear section was all factory fabricated out of Wood! I would like to build this car someday, (2nd pic) but it would be nice to know what the Hell the year of the car you are building! Any help would be appreciated!

i had a 1923 dodge that was awful close to that i knw where the mfg tag is on that thing if your interested..im pretty sure that was body was produced by the willys overlan company with a dodge brothers cowl...the tag is on the driver side seat pan right inside the door at the front..not very many of these cars produced..

Like has been said, we need more pics. Mcpherson's The Dodge Story, the only DB book I have, makes it look like a '20. By '22 the door windows were wider then they were tall. It should be a Budd body, no wood execpt trim strips and floorboards. Have a frame or any other parts of it, like a radiator shell or hood? Let's see the cowl and dash.
I noticed that, but posted it as the closest Willys body I could find. The 23 Willys has a fender cutout on the door.....unless they built the bodies to Dodge's specs. I found a '23 Dodge picture that showed the front of the car, and called it a "Business Sedan".
Build it now, figure out the year later! It sure looks like the '23 in the previouse post. It can/will be very interesting when done, thats a given.
im positvie that its a dodge brother cowl with a willys overland body...dodge contracted willys overland to do some odd 1000 bodys with there cowl ..sorry 1925 mine was a 25 not a 23
If there's a serial number on it anyplace, post it, or PM it to me, I'll look it up in my Chrysler book and see what year it falls under -
Sorry, Hotrodpaint, I wasn't meaning it to sound like I was correcting you, just making an observation. Purlepearl50, I've never heard of a Willys- Knight/ Dodge Brothers connection. What years and where did you learn this? My '24 DB coupe has a Fisher Body, they also made sedan bodies in '25 and '26. There were several other custom bodies for DB chassis, including Babcock.
i found it on a site on time i think or it may have been in my big chrysler book..it was a pretty rare car i cut up i found the tag on the seat pan on the driver seat it was about 3x3 and it said Willys Overland Co. Toledo ,Ohio blah blah blah bunch of patent numbers so i looked up Willys Overland and it came up with the Knight..my car was not even close to a Knight. then i got to looking more and came across the Dodge cowl on the Willys Overland body
What ever it is it looks cool, I like the rendering too. If you decide you ever want to sell it, let me know. I have a '38 Olds Straight 8 that would go perfect with it

I've seen model T axles marked "DB", they are super rare! Chevrolet started in the auto industry by making speed parts for Model T's. Wierd, huh!
Fortypickup, I bet we can keep this thread going until you get some more pics. The DB marked parts are pre-'14. I'm going by memory, and that's not as accurate as it once was, so bear with me. The DBs made a bicycle under their name, very rare. The Db boys started in the car buniness by making engines and transmissions for the curved dash Olds, then switched to Henry's T's. They made steering parts, engines and trans for Henry until 1914. He paid them stock and cash per unit, and by '14 they had about 5000 employees. They were both on the BoD at Ford. The per unit didn't change even though the number of units went way up from the early days until 1914. The boys asked for a raise in the unit price and it pissed Henry off so bad he borrowed money for the first time in his life. It seems the stock they were being paid would have given them enough power to buy Henry out. I forget the dollar amount of the check but it was enough for the DBs to build their own plant and start producing their own car of far better design then Ford. Where's the pics of the cowl?
That looks a lot like a 1924 or 25 Dodge Bros. body. The body lines on the doors look just like my 25 DB 5 window coupe.
Well if it's in nebraska, i could pick it up for you, and take it home and play with it while you find time to come get it....
Sorry for the delay! It turns out it is a 23 Dodge Bros and I am gonna start building in a month. Got a Model A frame and it is time to get this show on the road!
