Just file for a lost ***le... At our DMV for $1 you can get the last owners registration if you have the vin.

Looks like a 62. Good luck on the ***le thing...you might want to see if she can get a ***le as an abandoned vehicle or something?

Last time i checked in md you cant do jack unless it was ***led in your name before so im hoping i can find one

  5. It's a 1962 DeLuxe. Nice car, I should know (I have a '61 DeLuxe I'm about to take to pick up my kids).

However, no ***le in IL means no sale for me. It's just not worth the h***le.

Oh, yeah, I paid $2200 and drove it home. A cherry with almost zero rust, and a fully rebuilt engine compartment. You should be able to do better for not much more money.

1962 Great little cars! Can't go wrong for $300. Should be able to get a ***le fairly easy. You need a buddy in Alabama,Georgia, or New York.

  10. .............and the past tense of grind is ground, not "grinded"............Sheesh

  11. Not to rain on anyones parade but if one was to find another car with a ***le the un***led car would be the donor. Remember we don't switch ***les or vin tags on the HAMB, none of use like the blanket party they throw for us at the gray rock hotel, or when that big fella wants to wash you back for ya in the shower.

For that price the h***le of getting a ***le is worth it. Because you know, and are on good terms with the current/ex owner even better.

If you have trouble getting a ***le, just sell it to somebody in a no ***le state like Al or GA. Much better than parting out a solid car....

For the $$$ you'd have an excellent parts car there, hopefully the ***le thing works out, although it may be too old to have a ***le. Check with DMV, lots of states didn't issue them until into the '70's.

check the dmv website for lost ***le instructions. Virginia recently changed their abandoned vehicle process to make it easier for s****pers to dispose of cars. works out pretty well for any car that hasn't been ***led for at least 15 years as they are not in the system. $60 and about 45 days and ***le in hand.

  18. I bought a ***le for my heap on another website from a guy who had a long list of available ***les......paid $175.00.......good to go...went to my local DMV and flipped it over to my name and current address no problem.

Yes I have bought ***les for old cars in my life. Mostly 20s and 30s cars. Maryland is pretty easy because nobody checks the Vin number.

That being said For CYA purposes I'd do it according to the DMV and get a "legal" ***le instead of a correct year ***le. You can get tags for it but if you get pulled over by a gung ho cop you could be in trouble and your car could be impounded. No fun... The newer cars like yours are easier to find the location of the VIN number and easier to check. If you try to sell it to a different state down the road you could end up with a can of worms.

I snooped through the Md car ***le section on the web and there doesn't seem to be a real simple way to do it but in some states you can lay claim to a car after it has been "abandoned" on your property for a certain amount of time.

If you have looked at the car or have access to it have you looked in the glove box and other places where there may be an old registration slip or maybe even the ***le? I found the ***le to an ot rig that a guy gave me to cut up because it "didn't have a ***le" in the trash in the glove box a couple of years ago.

The easy way would be if you have a close buddy who tows and impounds cars who would run the paperwork for you. Fully legal as far as the state is concerned even if it isn't seen as being on the up and up by some folks.

What you might do is go to the dmv before you buy the car an tell them that you have this car that was left on your property by someone (maybe a renter) and that it has been there for a length of time and you would like to lay claim to it and get a ***le for it and ask how to do it. Just don't tell them that the car hasn't got there yet.

Yes there is such a thing in Md. as a mechanics lien and there are guys that will take care of all the paper work and the details of such a transaction for you for a price that may even be cheaper than a bogus ***le so that you can get a ***le that matches the VIN # of your car and is legal.

Got it home yesterday evening I was an hour and a half late home to my surprise Birthday dinner I got it for $260 bucks messed with it a bit today got the trunk to open cleaned it out some and I even got the carb cleaned but wile trying to get the float needle to stop sticking I dropped the top half and cracked a peice inside I have I replacement lined up I believe I did get it to fire up and run off spray but the fuel pressure is weak I have to drain the tank still. Did theses falcons have an inline filter anywhere that could be clogged? Maybe just junk clogging the pump? I found 4 brand new shocks all new rubber brake lines brand new wipers and new master cylinder in the back seat and a couple other goodies. Anyone know a cheap place to get patch panels for behind the rear wheels?

Back to the ***le thing, The lady surely remembers the womans name she bought the car from.
Get her name and search the local phone book and/or type her name in on the web and see who comes up in your area with that name or husbands name etc...........call the dmv to see if the ***le (using the Vin#) is still valid, they should at least tell you that.

These are some of the things I did to track down the last owner of my last 55 chevy and I found him and got the ***le in my name

Get the ***le deal straightened out before putting another dime/time in to the car. Don't want to see another thread crying about a done car with $$$$ in it and no way to make it legal.

So i was working on the falcon today i got it running but the carb is bad i need to find one in at least usable condition. Mine is cracked. I pulled the service manual out of the box in the back seat and out fell the ***le its signed tho in the buyer spot so i still have to track the guy down but its a plus atleast.

Glad you found the ***le. Get that settled ASAP.

Be careful trying to start the car with the fuel that is in the tank. You could end up with bent pushrods and a lot more work.

A buddy of mine actually had the DMV lady tell him to go out side into the parking lot. She said I'm sure the man is out there some where.:D He came back in a half hour and all was well. He found the missing interim owner in the parking lot and it got signed. You can get the ***le ***igned to your name without getting tags for it until you have it street worthy. If you sell it before it's roadworthy, you will not have a problem then.

Lady at the DMV told me the same thing when the guy only signed his sig and not his printed name.. she said "I'm sure he's out in the parking lot."

I wish it was that easy its signed over but all the buyer information is filled out (by owner before last) i so i have to find him or the owner before him i wish people would just leave the buyer info blank until they go to the mva i went thru the same deal with a motorcycle once had to find the guy who signed it
