One of my friends finally got the old 60
Corvette running and on the street again. It’s been 4 years since he bought from the guy who bought it from his brother. He’s got all the trim parts and going to install them as he uses it.

Tripped across this kool Ford yesterday in Austin, Texas sitting outside a barber shop. Sorry for the crappy across the street pics but I was walking and in a hurry…

Oh, I was out of the car. I had just ridden a greyhound bus for 9-1/2 hours and decided to walk the last 2 miles to where I needed to pick up a car. It wasn’t the best neighborhood and I had $8k on me to pay for the car. Yesterday was quite the adventure to be honest by the time I also drove back home and pulled up to the house about 1 am…

 

The beauty of this site is there are all kinds of people on it. I'm betting you are talking about the shoebox, but when you said Ford, I immediately zeroed in on the Econoline. Been a long time since I roamed the streets of Austin, but last time I drove through there were hundreds of homeless people camped out on the streets. Not sure I'd walk anywhere with that kind of cash.

 

To be honest, yea, I was talking about the car. But, the Econoline was also cool. I would drive either one as Anthony would say.

And, not many people have ever said they would do some of the crazy stuff I have done over the years. Last time I rode a bus, I went across Uganda overnight for about the same amount of time by myself. Oh, and there was that time I had to smuggle $10k in new hundred dollar bills into Russia when we adopted my oldest boy over there about 20 years ago. I have learned that the fun is in the adventure.

A few good ones a Ruby’s in Whittier for their Friday show. Can’t beat owning a C1 with a Powerglide or a 392 in a 57 Plymouth.

 

How about a 55 Chrysler 300…. Restored a few years ago but caught a lot of folks eye including mine. Still 6 Volt..

 

The engine sure looks cooler than the "modernized" one a few posts back.
